국문 초록

차쓰 기저(Csáth Géza)의 단편소설 <마법사의 정원(A varázsló kertje)>은 1907년 6월에 문예잡지 『부다페스트 일지(Budapest Napló)』에 처음으로 실린 작품으로서 당시 전통적인 소설의 서사구조에 따라 해석하기가 난해한 작품이다. 본고에서는 이 작품을 프로이트의 정신분석학의 이론들을 토대로 살펴보았다. 이는 프로이트의 이론을 답습하여 창작을 하였다는 논제는 아니며, 이보다는 프로이트의 심리학적 이론을 바탕으로 해석이 가능한 유형의 심리소설이라고 할 수 있을 것이다. 본문에 해당하는 장을 세 개의 소단원으로 나누어서 첫 번째 소단원에서는 형식적인 면을 중심으로, 두 번째 단원에서는 이 작품에 나타난 무의식 세계의 묘사를 프로이트 정신분석학의 몇 가지 개념들과 함께 살펴보았으며 이 무의식 세계 묘사의 배경에는 성(szexualitás)적인 요소가 중심에 있다는 점을 알아보았다. 본문의 세 번째 소단원에서는 작품 속 무의식 세계에 해당하는 부분의 서사 중 "아이들 참수"와 "아버지 살해"에 대한 모티브를 분석해 보았다.

영문 초록

Csáth Géza(1887-1919)'s short stories was published on the June of 1907 at the literary magazine "Budapest journal". And this study is the first attempt in Korea on Csáth Géza who is the one of the most well-known hungarian psychological novelists. This work is difficult to interpret by the traditional narrative structure of the novel. When he wrote this novel, Csáth was a medical student fascinated by in anatomy and neurology and later he was active as a psychiatrist as well. Moreover when this work was shown to readers, it had been passed not more than 10 years after the most important writings of Freud's "The Interpretation of Dreams" was published. In this paper, I would try to analyze his work based on Freud's theories of psychoanalysis. We could find many concepts and ideas of Freud's theories in this work even some of Freud's theories were not spreaded widely at that time when this novel was published. The main parts of this manuscript consist of three sections. I investigated the formal structure of this novel related to the topographic model of Freud's, "consciousness - preconsciousness - unconscious" in the first section. In the following section, I tried to analyze the text, mainly concerning to the "garden", with the viewpoint of sexuality in unconsciousness. And the last main section of this manuscript is about the infantile amnesia and the murder of the father in the unconsciousness of the narrator of this novel. The way of approach or analysis is not much particular, because there are so many attempts to assay literary writings with the theories of Freud's, but this paper is focused that this novel was based on the psychoanalysis by the writer, psychoanalyst.
