국문 초록

이 글은 1930년대 세계문학 담론의 수행적 구조를 고찰하고, 나아가 세계성의 이념이 기행과 방문을 통해 직접적으로 경험되는 방식을 살핌으로써, 당대 세계문학 담론의 정치적 의미 가능성을 고구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 그동안 세계문학담론은 해외문학 수용의 문제로 간주되거나, 해외문학파라는 특정 정파의 인정투쟁 차원에서 접근되었다. 하지만 세계문학 담론은 진영을 막론한 조선 문단 전체의 협의 대상으로서, 그 논의의 수행성 자체를 하나의 성립조건으로 하고 있는 ‘규제적 이념’이었다. 세계문학 담론은 조선문학에 잠재된 세계성의 이념을 현실화할 수 있는 구체적 방안을 모색하는 것이었으며, 서구 중심의 일원론적 세계인식에 포섭되지 않기 위해, 자국문학에 대한 이해를 선행시킴으로써, 조선문학의 특수성을 해명하는 것으로 종합된 논제였던 것이다. 특히, 1930년대 해외문학기행은 특정한 네이션으로 귀속되지 않는 세계문학의 이념을 형성하게 하기 위한 경험적인 계기가 되었다. 즉, 해외문학 기행의 주체들은 미적 향유로써, 서구 중심의 세계인식을 문학적 차원에서 재편하고 있었던 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to consider the performative structure of the discourse of world literature in the 1930s, and furthermore to explore the possibility of political meaning in the discourse of world literature of the day by examining the method that the idea of cosmopolitanism is directly experienced by travel and visit. Thus far, the discourse of world literature has been regarded as a matter of acceptance of abroad literature, or approached in the level of struggle for recognition of the particular faction, Haewoimunhakpa (the School of Foreign Literature). However, as a target of the whole Joseon's literary world regardless of camps, the discourse of world literature was the 'regulative idea' making it a condition of the performative of the argument. The discourse of world literature was to explore specific measures that enabled the idea of globality latent in Joseon literature to be realized and the integrated topic with an explanation of the particularity of Joseon literature by preceding the understanding of their own culture in order not to be captured by the Western-oriented monistically world perspective. In particular, abroad literature travels in the 1930s were experiential　opportunities to form the idea of world literature that did not belong to a particular nation. In other words, the principal agent of abroad literature travel reorganized the Western-oriented world perspective in the cultural level as an aesthetic enjoyment.
