국문 초록

본 연구는 특수학교 전공과의 운영현황과 개선방안을 탐구하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전공과 교사 4명을 대상으로 전공과 운영현황 및 개선방안에 대한 심층면담을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 전공과 운영현황과 관련하여 학생 선발은 체계적으로 이루어지고 있었으며, 학교 재량으로 직업준비교과와 직업기능교과의 이원적 교육과정을 운영하고 있었다. 또한 모든 학생들은 현장실습에 참여하고 있었으며, 학생들의 사회적응능력 향상을 위한 다양한 서비스가 제공되고 있었다. 하지만 낮은 수준의 직업능력과 다양한 장애특성들로 인한 운영의 어려움, 인력부족 및 국가수준의 지침 부재, 실습장소의 제한, 담당교사에 대한 지나친 의존, 부모와 학교 교직원의 인식 부족 등은 해결되어져야 할 과제들이었다. 전공과의 개선방안과 관련해서는 장기과정의 전공과 설치와 운영, 인성 측면의 강조, 다양한 현장실습의 기회 및 방식의 제공, 국가수준 교육과정 및 지침 마련, 교사인력 확충이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 특수학교 교직원들의 전공과에 대한 인식 개선과 일반학교에서 장애학생들을 대상으로 전공과 입학을 준비할 필요가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore operating reality and improving methods of majoring courses in special schools. This study explored four majoring course teachers about operating reality and improving methods of majoring courses by in-depth interviews. The results of the study were as follow: Regarding the operating reality of majoring courses, the selections of students were systematic, and schools managed dual curriculums, working preparation subjects and working functional subjects by their own discretion. In addition, all the students participated in practicum and received various services for their social adaptation. However, there were many issues to be solved such as the difficulty in operation due to low level of working abilities and diverse disabilities, the lack of faculties and national guides, the lack of practicum places, the highly reliance on responsible teachers, the lack of perception of parents and school faculty members. Regarding the improving methods of majoring courses, this study showed several methods such as the establishment and operation of long-term majoring courses, the emphasis on human nature, the provision of various practicum opportunities, national curriculum and guidelines, and the employment of more teachers. This study also showed that special school faculties needed to improve their perceptions on majoring courses and general schools needed to prepare the entrance for majoring courses towards students with disabilities.
