국어교과에서의 다문화교육

국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 중학교 국어교과를 위한 다문화교육 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 우선 중학교 교육과정과 국어 교과서에 나타난 다문화 교육적 내용을 추출 분석하였다. 둘째, 국어교과서의 제재를 활용한 다문화교육 프로그램을 개발 및 적용하였다. 다음으로 다문화교육을 하기에 적절한 제재를 추출하였고, 이를 내용에 따라 사회정의, 다양성ㆍ다원성, 정체성으로 나누고, 이를 바탕으로 교수ㆍ학습과정안을 설계ㆍ적용하였다. 교수ㆍ학습 과정안은 기존의 교과 내용에 다문화적인 텍스트를 첨가하여 설계하였다. 다문화교육 프로그램을 적용한 결과 다문화 사회에 대한 학생들의 인식 변화가 있는 것으로 나타나 그 효용성이 입증되었다. 이 논문은 학교 현장에서 다문화사회를 이해하는 국어수업의 예를 보여줌으로써 다른 교과의 교사들에게도 다문화교육을 할 수 있는 하나의 실천적 방법을 제시한다.

영문 초록

The objective of this article is to develop the multicultural education program for the middle school Korean language course and to verify its effectiveness. For this purpose, this article examines the school curriculum and analyzes existing 23 Korean textbooks of 7th grade and extracts multicultural contents. And then, this study develops a four hour program for multicultural education in utilizing a framework of multicultural contents (identity, diversity, social justice) and applies it to 7th grade of SonGok middle school. The results are as follows. First, multicultural contents in Korean language textbooks are very rare (only 0.18%). So the writers of Korean textbooks need to have more multicultural awareness. Second, the result of t-test shows the effectiveness of 4 hour-program for multicultural education in Korean Langage teaching because most of students show the positive changes in all three categories: diversity, social justice and identity. Especially students showed very high muticultural degree in terms of diversity. However, the multicultural education in terms of 'identity' needs to be more intensified and improved.
