국문 초록

루마니아의 영웅서사시와 의적요의 경계는 사실 모호하다. 영웅서사시가 영웅의 인물 묘사나 행동에 서사단락의 중심을 두며 다소 과장된 문체와 장엄한 어조로 표현되는 것을 선호하는 반면, 의적요는 주동 인물이 연루된 사회적 상황 그리고 갈등과 충돌로 야기된 서사단락에 주안점을 두며, 과장된 문체보다는 사실적 묘사에 무게중심을 두며 서정적 흐름 속에 탄탄한 서사단락을 구성한다고 볼 수 있다. 하지만, 영웅서사시에 비해 의적요가 하위 또는 계승의 위치에 있다는 점과 많은 경우 이 두 장르에 동일 또는 유사한 인물과 에피소드가 묘사된다는 점에서 상호 간섭과 개연성을 허용하는 편이다. 영웅서사시 또는 의적요의 오래된 변형 속에 나타나는 이 주인공들은 군주와 영주사이의 대립, 중세의 권리를 위한 충돌 속에서 투쟁하는 영웅의 모습을 반영하며, 사회적 억압에 반대하는 민중의 영웅으로 인식되었다. 의적 서사요는 민중들로부터 절대적 환영을 받았으며, 화자나 악사와 같은 연행자들에 의해 사랑을 받았다. 의적요는 영웅을 노래한‘옛 노래’로서 귀족에 대항하는 민중의 증오와 권리를 위한 정서가 잘 표현되어 있다. 영주나 외세의 지배계층에게 직접 할 수 없었던 표현들을 암시하고 있었기에 당시의 민중으로부터 큰 사랑과 반향을 불러일으켰다. 루마니아 서사요는 주제에 따라‘반봉건 유형’과‘반오토만 유형’으로 양분되는데, 전자는‘기사 의적 유형’,‘도둑 의적 유형’,‘공물과 조공의 테마 유형’을 그리고 후자는‘일상의 구비 서사요’,‘노박 유형 서사요’,‘다뉴브 강을 무대로 한 의적요’를 하위갈래로 가진다. 루마니아 의적요의 전개는 영웅서사시에서 볼 수 있듯이 사악한 봉건 영주와 맞서고 정의를 위해 싸우는 영웅의 모습으로서 뿐만 아니라 터키인들에 의해 납치되거나 영주등에 조세나 조공으로 받쳐진 아내나 누이를 찾아오는 영웅의 모습과 같이 새로운 주제와 범주를 형성하며, 서사단락의 진행과 미학적 통합 그리고 고풍스러운 진행 속에서 수용 발전되었다. 의적요를 구성하는 서사흐름의 핵심은 추적대와 의적 또는 적대자와 의적 사이의 직면과 충돌로 표출되는데, 이때 주인공은 추종자의 배신에 의해 체포 수감되거나, 심한 경우 죽임을 당하기도 한다. 적들에게서 승리를 거두는 영웅의 활약을 기록한 영웅서사시와 달리 의적 서사요는 역사적 사실들과 결부하여 통상 주인공의 비극적 결말로 대단원을 맞이한다.

영문 초록

The boundary between the heroic epic and the epic song of ‘righteous outlaw’ is, in fact, ambiguous. While the heroic epic prefers to express with the stilted writing style and the tone of solemn voice centering the episode in hero’s a character sketch and behavior, the epic song of ‘righteous outlaw’ places emphasis on the episode in which brings conflicts involved in hero and his social situation, and prefers the realistic description and the firm episode to the stilted writing style. But, these two genres are allowed in many cases the mutual interference and the probability of side, because the epic song of ‘righteous outlaw’ succeeds the heroic epic and same or similar characters and episodes are depicted in both. Main protagonists appeared in old variation of the heroic epic and the epic song of ‘righteous outlaw’, reflect the figures of heros which fight for the their medieval rights and struggle to resist invasion being a folk hero against the social suppression. The epic song of ‘righteous outlaw’ received an absolute ovation by the people and gained its musician and story-teller's affections. The epic song of ‘righteous outlaw’ like one among the old songs which sang the hero, became the folk emotion and the national psyche at that time. And this song waked the people’s echoes with good success, because people expressed that they could not express in front of the ruling caste. The Romanian epic songs comes in two categories: the pattern of antifeudalism and the pattern of Anti-Ottoman Empire. The former has the low classifications like the type of knight( Tipuri de haiduci-cavaleri ), the type of Outlaw( Tipuri de haiduci-hoţomani ), the theme for the heavy burden of taxation( Tematica birului greu), and the latter has also other categorizations like the type of daily life( Jurnale orale), the type of Novac( Ciclul Novăceştilor ), the ballad of Danube river's harbor( Balada porturilor dunărene). The unfolding of the Romanian epic song of 'righteous outlaw', like in the heroic epic, describes not only the heroic image which fights for justice, but also gets his wife or sister back from Osmanli. So this genre could form the new themes and categories through these, and developed more refined episodes and their aesthetic values. Their main episodes are going along with chained conflicts between heroes and enemies, and at this moment the hero is arrested by follower's betrayal or in severe case he was killed. Unlike the heroic epic which is written the hero's activities and victories, the epic song of 'righteous outlaw' comes to a tragic end of heroes under the historical facts.
