국문 초록

본 논문은 어떤 이유로 르네상스기에 알레고리화가 그려졌는지, 알레고리화를 통해 당대인들은 무엇을 표현하고 향유했는지, 그것이 인간사의 흐름에서 어떤 의미를 갖는지에 대한 논의를 전개한다. 르네상스기의 알레고리화는 주로 그리스ㆍ로마 신화를 표현하지만 그것은 신화의 내용을 전달하려는 것이 아니라 다른 추상적 개념들을 표현하는 것이 목적이다. 그리고 이 추상적 개념들은 당시의 휴머니스트들과 신플라톤주의자들에 의해 연구되고 제안되었다. 파노프스키가 제안한 도상해석학은 알레고리화를 내용상으로 분석하는데 머무르지 않고 당대의 정신적 배경과 함께 독해하려는 방법론이다. 파노프스키는 르네상스기의 고전 모티브의 재발견은 르네상스를 특징짓는 휴머니즘과 인간적 사건이라고 결론짓는다. 본 논문은 이와는 대조적으로 알레고리화가 보여주는 것은 오히려 신의 권위와 새롭게 발견된 인간적 가치가 공존하는 혼란과 모순임을 주장한다.

영문 초록

This article investigates allegory in pictures in Renaissance based on Humanism and Neo-Platonism. Also this article presents that the analysis of the allegory has complex points of the dispute in terms of iconography and iconology. The theme of the GreekㆍRoman myth is mainly used as the allegory in pictures. The GreekㆍRoman gods and goddess are allegories of the human character or nature... etc. The allegory in pictures of Renaissance represented the idea of the humanists. The humanists in Renaissance thought that the human being who is incomplete and belongs to the material world must love and longing the God in order not to lose their string with the celestial world. Especially the Neo-Platonism in Florence was ultimately a Christian analysis of Platon. During the Renaissance period, people was inherited the notion of the God from the Middle Ages and recognized newly the human nature of themselves. The allegory of this time reflects that the focus of thoughts transforms from the God to the human. Through the understanding of the allegory, we know that the human was newly discovered in the Renaissance or rather the such discovery was happened in confusion and conflicts.
