성인 지적장애인의 미래계획에 대한 가족과 전문가들의 주관적 인식 유형

국문 초록

본 연구는 성인 지적장애인의 미래계획에 관해 가족과 전문가들이 갖는 주관적 인식의 유형들을 파악함으로써 다양한 사회복지적 개입 방안을 모색하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 주관적 연구방법인 Q-방법론을 활용하여, 성인 지적장애인 미래계획에 관한 문헌조사 및 사전인터뷰 결과를 토대로 총 30문항의 Q표본을 구성하였으며, 성인 지적장애인의 어머니들 10명과 장애인복지관 실무자들 10명 등 총20명을 P표본을 선정하여 이들의 인식유형을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 총 4개의 인식유형들(제1유형: 이상적 독립추구형, 제2유형: 현실적 독립준비형, 제3유형: 국가책임 의존형, 제4유형: 비독립적 장애인식형)이 도출되었으며, 유형 간 공통점 및 성인지적장애인의 어머니들과 복지관 실무자들 간의 인식유형의 차이도 분석되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 각각의 유형에 따른 적합한 사회복지적 개입 방안을 논의하고, 가족과 전문가의 상이한 인식에 따른 충분한 사전 논의 및 상호이해의 필요성을 제시하는 한편, 지적장애인의 미래계획과 관련된 비장애 형제들의 역할 고려가 중요함을 시사하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data useful for social welfare interventions for adults with intellectual disabilities through identifying subjective perception of parents and specialists on the future planning. For this purpose, using Q methodology, a technique for analyzing subjective perception type, 30 statements are extracted based on the review of the previous literature and in-depth interviews. Q-categorizations on the statements are then conducted for the P-samples(20persons) that includes mothers of adults with intellectual disabilities and the specialists of the welfare center for the disabled. The result identifies four perception types: 1) Type 1: idealistic anticipation of independent-living, 2) Type 2: realistic preparation for independent-living, 3) Type 3: dependence on government, and 4) Type 4: no alternatives for overcoming the dependence induced by disability. More customized social welfare interventions suitable for individual types are suggested based on the findings in the study. In addition, this study also suggests that discussion of the future planning between families and specialists and the roles of siblings without disabilities are required.
