영문 초록

In modern times a festival is a visible, public-oriented activity which can play the major role of giving life to a district. In spite of car parking problem, crowdedness on the street and residents’ resistance, the festival brings about benefits such as public awareness, economic advantage, image forming, education and participation in community to the host district. Although there are many district festivals across the country, they are not correctly established yet. Sometimes they become major cause to waste budgets of local autonomous entities. However, the attraction and effects to the human caused by a festival can be regarded to surpass tourism itself. Accordingly, this study is focused on the comparison analysis of tourists’ participation motive ! models in the district festival which plays a pivotal part as culture tourism. At an antecedent study the 21 questionnaires as well as 6 factors of participation motives(the nature of unity, sportiveness, escape from every day life, intimacy, novelty and culture) were given to the visitors of Simcheong Festival at Gogseong and Baegryeon Festival at Muan. The two festivals were compared and analyzed with 17 items(excluding 4 improper ones as analysis result) and 6 composition factors in connection with characters of socio-demography and behavior of tourism.
