인천허브공항의 공간적 네트워크 집중도 측정: 1992~2001

국문 초록

본 논문은 인천공항과 외국공항들의 1992년과 2001년의 항공화물 처리량을 중심으로 Rimmer(1967)모델을 이용하여 공항의 화물집중도를 측정하고 Burghouwt et al. (2003)가 공항분야에 사용한 지니계수를 이용하여 집중도와 공간적 네트워크 집중도를 측정함으로써, 세계적인 공항들의 화물처리의 네트워크 집중과 분산의 정도를 파악하고자 한다. 또한 외국의 선행연구에서는 이용되고 있지만 국내에서는 연구가 극히 미진한 공항의 화물처리 면에서의 집중도를 지니계수를 이용하여 측정하는 방법을 제시하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 실증분석의 결과를 요약하면, 먼저 Rimmer모형을 적용한 결과의 화물집중도가 높아진 공항(집중된 공항)은 오사카， 싱가포르， 홍콩， 서울， 샌프란시스코， 시카고 공항들이고， 화물집중도가 분산된 공항들은 뉴욕， 프랑크푸르트. L.A., 시드니， 파리， 마이애미， 타이페이， 런던， 방콕 공항들이었다. Burghouwt et al. (2003)의 지니계수 모형식을 이용한 결과는 인천공항은 지니계수가 커져서 화물처리 면에서의 집중도와 공간적인 네트워크의 불평등도가 약간 커졌고, 네트워크 집중도도 커진 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 정책적 함의는 본 연구에서 부분적으로 제시하고 있는 국가별 해당 공항의 연도별， 지역별， 공항별， 항공사별로 밝혀내어 화물처리량을 집중시키고, 노선별 공항의 네트워크 집중도를 높일 수 있는 정책적인 방안을 정부당국, 인천 공항의 운영관리 및 이용을 하는 관련 당사자들이 강구해야만 한다는 점이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to introduce the measuremnet way of cargo concentration and spatial network concentration by using Rimmer(l967) model and Burghouwt et al.(2003) model for Gini index for investigating the possibility of Incheon International airport as a Hub airport in Northeast Asia region. The empirical analysis focused on the cargo concentration and spatial network concentration by using the cross section data of 1992 and 2001 among the 20 international world airports including Incheon internationa airport. The core results of empirical analysis are as follows: first, application results of Rimmer( 1967) model show that the degree of cargo concentration of Osaka, Singapore, Hongkong, Incheon, Sanfransisco, and Chicago airports were increased. Secondly, Gini index of Incheon airport by using Burghouwt et al.(2003) model was increased which induced the increase of cargo concentration level and spatial network concentration. Therefore, competition power of Incheon international airport was confirmed, however, to become a real hub airport, Incheon international airport should compete with the New York, Hongkong, Tokyo airports which also show the high level of spatial network concentration. The policy planners of Korean airports and Incheon international airport should find out the factors which have influenced on the cargo concentration & deconcentration and the spatial network concentration among the world airports especially Northeast Asia airports with Incheon international airport. After that, they should decide and introduce the enhancement plan for improving the current situation for taking survival power competing with other airports located in Northeast Asia.
