국문 초록

그동안 평생학습 참여에 대한 연구는 평생학습참여 기회 확대 중심의 논의가 대부분이었고, 학습결과 활용에 초점을 둔 평생학습 참여효과 분석 연구는 미비했다. 본 연구는 “2010 한국 성인의 평생학습 실태조사” 데이터를 활용하여 평생학습 참여 성과와 성과에 영향을 주는 요인을 분석하였다. 먼저, 평생학습 ‘참여여부’에 따른 성과인식에 차이가 있는지를 분석하고, 평생학습 참여여부에 따라 성과모형을 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 평생학습 참여자가 비참여자에 비해 상대적으로 삶의 질(행복감, 만족도, 건강)과 사회참여(친목도모, 정치관심, 의논상대)에 대해 높게 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 평생학습 참여가 개인배경에 의해 결정될 수 있는 삶의 질과 사회참여 성과에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 물론 개인 배경 및 평생학습 참여 특성은 성과에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 다양한 유형의 평생학습 참여를 통해 개인배경 요인들이 주는 영향력을 최소화시키고 개선할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the effects of participation in lifelong learning on improving an adult learners’ quality of life and in increasing his or her opportunities to join more fully into society. Based on the analysis, the study also attempts to provide strategies and policy directions for lifelong learning that may help to secure an improvement in the learner’s quality of life. The study categorized the effects of lifelong learning in terms of the Human New Deal; that is, improvement in quality of life and increased social participation. In order to analyze the participants’ recognition of performance, the study examined the performance of lifelong learning and the factors that influence performance in terms of the Human New Deal by using data from the ‘2010 Survey on Adult Lifelong Learning in Korea’. The difference in performance recognition was analyzed through the aspects of participation or lack thereof. Based on the analysis, personal background and participation in lifelong learning play an important role in the performance of the Human New Deal. In particular, personal background, such as human capital, determines the performance of the Human New Deal, quality of life and social participation. It is important, however, to note that various types of lifelong learning can improve and increase the human capital.
