국문 초록

이 논문은 지능의 일반적, 분야 특수적 관점에서 학습장애영재의 특징을 설명하는 모델을 제안하고 있다. 이 모델은 3단계 개념분석 방법을 사용하여, 기존 연구들에서 제시된 학습장애영재의 특징들을 분류한 후, 관련 지능이론의 관점에서 서로 비교, 평가하고 통합되어 이루어진 것이다. 이 모델에 의하면, 특정분야의 약한 단기기억으로 인해 모든 분야 능력의 핵심인 일반 능력들(general abilities)의 작용이 제약을 받아 결국 특정 분야에서 장애가 발생한다. 이 모델은 일반지능, 주의력 및 기억, 그리고 내용과 표현의 관점에서 분류할 수 있는 분야특수능력들 간의 기능적 상호관련성을 구체적으로 설명하고 있어, 한 개인 내에 영재성과 학습장애가 상호 공존하는 특수영재현상에 대한 독자적인 해석틀을 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

This paper proposes a model to explain the characteristics of gifted students with learning disabilities (GLD) in terms of general and domain-specific aspects of intelligence. A three-step conceptual analysis was used to interpret literature on GLD through categorization of characteristics, comparison and evaluation of these characteristics in light of relevant intelligence theories, and integration of the characteristics into a proposed model. The model suggests that general abilities, which appear as domain-specific abilities, can be limited by weak domain memory resulting in domain-specific disability. Because of its specification of functional interrelationships between general intelligence, attention and memory, and domain-specific abilities which are uniquely divided into content and representation sub-domains, the model is a unique explanatory framework for dual exceptionality.
