초등 과학영재교육과정의 합의적 평정기법에 의한 실태분석과 개발방향

국문 초록

영재교육의 양적 확대와 동시에 질적 성장을 위해 다양한 차원의 중간점검이 필요한 시기이다. 중간점검은 이론적 연구와 함께 영재교육현장의 정확한 실태조사에 기초하여 발전방향에 대한 논의가 있어야 한다. 본 연구는 국가 영재교육에서도 많은 비중(43%)을 차지하고 있는 초등 과학영재교육과정에 초점을 두고 살펴보았다. 먼저, 문헌연구를 통해 영재교육과정 개발 모형들을 분석하여 공통준거를 추출하고, 전문가협의회(32명)과 교원협의회(41명)를 대상으로 ‘é초등 과학영재교육프로그램 모음집(6종)’é을 합의적 평정기법에 따라 체크리스트 평점과 근거를 서술하도록 하였다. 연구결과, 전반적으로 교원협의회가 전문가협의회보다 더 높은 평가를 하고 있었으며 통계적으로도 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 특히 영재교육의 철학적 요구, 영재학생의 심리적 특성 반영, 창의성과 같은 사고기술의 강조, 산출물의 다면적 평가에 대해서 전문가협의회는 미흡함을 지적하였으나 교원협의회는 잘 이루어지고 있다는 차이를 보였다. 특히, 최신 융합형 과학교육의 강조, 간학문적 전이가능성이 낮고 영재교육과정의 설계단계에서부터 영재들의 교육적 요구에 대한 요구조사분석에 기반하여 설계, 구성, 실행되어야 하며, 속진학습의 적용, 평가기준의 타당성이 낮다고 하였다. 본 연구의 결과에서 나타났듯이 이제 영재교육과정은 사회적 맥락, 시대적 요구, 최신 학문의 동향, 영재의 심리적 특성, 교육적 요구, 교육내용, 교수-학습방법, 다면적 평가 등의 모든 요소에 대한 보다 심도 깊은 이론적 연구와 교육현장으로의 적용가능한 교육과정으로 설계, 구성되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the gifted education curriculum of cience in elementary school and search the implication of developing science curriculum of gifted. The models of development in gifted education curriculum were analyzed through literature research and the common criterions were extracted. 32 experts and 41 teachers examined ‘6 Source books of Gifted education curriculum of Science in elementary school’ and gave grades and descriptions with checklists according to their expertise. The findings were as follows.: Mostly teachers gave higher grades than experts to many criterions in checklists with statistically significant differentiation. Especially, there were significant differences in the philosophical needs of gifted education, considerations of psychological characteristics, emphasis on creativity and thinking skills, multidimensional evaluations of outputs. But experts and teachers gave low grades to the emphasis on current convergent science education and interdisciplinary transitional possibility. They suggested the gifted education curriculum to be developed and implemented based on a need analysis of gifted students. Third, they gave low grades to implement of acceleration in the gifted curriculum and validity of evaluation criterions. To improve the quality of gifted education, following prerequisites need to be satisfied: gifted education curriculum should be developed based on in-depth theoretical study and experimental field study including a social context, needs of the times, the latest trends of study, psychological characteristics and educational needs of the gifted, contents and methods of gifted curriculum, multi-dimensional evaluation.
