W.C.C.의 사회구원적 기독론에 대한 비판적 분석

국문 초록

WCC는 사회구원적 사역을 위해 출범되었다. 따라서 WCC에서 교회 연합은 실제로 큰 주제가 되지 못하였고, 1차 총회로부터 9차에 이르기까지 이 세상의 정의와 자유, 평화를 위해서 정치, 사회, 경제적 구조 악을 제거하는 인간 해방 사역을 논하는 것이 거의 전부였다. 이러한 사회구원적 활동은 기독론이 그 중심적 기초를 담당하였다. 하지만 이 기독론은 처음부터 보편속죄론과 보편적인 주되심의 차원에서만 다루어졌기에, 개인구원과 개인적 종말은 논의되지 못하였다. 화해론에 기초한 기독론, 성육신의 필연성, 부정의로 고난 겪는 자와 자유를 박탁당한 사람들의 메시아 혹은 해방자로서의 그리스도, 모든 인류의 구세주 등의 개념이 기독론적 술어가 되었다. 전통적인 속죄론과 인격론은 논의되지 못하였다. WCC가 칼케돈 신조를 거부한 것이 결정적 근거이다. 이는 곧 사회구원을 위한 기독론이 그 한계를 드러낸 것임을 의미한다. 나아가 종교적 다원성 혹은 종교 다원주의적 경향은 WCC가 지금도 기독론의 독특성을 선언한다고 주장하는 WCC 지지자들을 무색하게 한다. WCC의 사회구원적 기독론은 성경적, 정통 기독론에서 벗어난,‘유사 기독론’이었다. 이제 WCC는 사회구원적 교회 사역의 신학적 근거를 찾기 위해, 기독론에서 신론으로 그 중심축을 이동 중이다. 창조주 하나님의 우주적 주되심 안에 정치, 사회, 경제적 구조 악으로부터 고난 받는 자들, 그리고 타종교인과 무종교인까지도 포용하는 사회구원적 교회론을 공고히 하고 있는 것이다. 더 이상 기독론의 도움을 필요로 하지 않을 시대를WCC는 준비하고 있다.

영문 초록

WCC started the steps forward to her work for social salvation from her founding(1948). Therefore, Church union was not really a key issue, but rather, WCC, from the first assembly to the ninth, almost took the subjects such as humanity liberation from the structural evils in political, social, economic areas for the justice and peace of the world. Christology played a central role in this work for social salvation. However, Christology has been considered in view of the universal atonement and Lordship from the beginning of WCC, and therefore, the theological subjects such as personal salvation and eschatology have not been discussed. Christological languages included understanding the person of Christ based on reconciliation, necessity of Incarnaiton, Christ as the messiah or liberator of people suffering from injustice and restricted freedom, and the Savior of all humanity. Traditional doctrines of atonement and of the person of Christ have not been chosen for discussion. The decisive failure of WCC was to reject the Chalcedonian Creed. This showed that the Christology as a theological basis for social salvation reached the limit. Furthermore, religious plurality or the tendency toward religious pluralism shamed the WCC supporters who believed that the WCC statements included the uniqueness of Christology. The Christology for social salvation developed itself into the form of ‘pseudo-Christology’, breaking away from the biblical, orthodox Christology. Nowadays WCC moves herself from Christology to the doctrine of God to find another theological basis for the social salvational works of Church. WCC consolidates the social salvational ecclesiology, embracing the people suffering from political, social, economic structural evils, and even the other believers and non-believers, in view of the universal Lordship of God the Creator. WCC prepares the era anybody might not need the help of Christology any more.
