Cette étude vise à présenter une nouvelle façon de didactiser le contact des langues, que nous appelons 《Intercompréhension entre langues non apparentées (IC-LNA)》. Comme toute activité d’Intercompréhension, I’IC-LNA offre la possibilité de mettre l’accent sur le développement de la compétence de réception, mais elle s’en différencie par le fait qu’elle ne se limite pas aux langues d’une même famille linguistique, qu’elle est d’emblée conçue comme une stratégie d’apprentissage, et qu’elle focalise spécifiquement sur la compétence de réception orale. Les résultats issus de séances d’expérimentation de I’IC-LNA, menées dans le cadre d’un enseignement sur l’Apprentissage en tandem, nous révèlent les avantages de ce mode de communication, qui s’avère équitable et motivant pour les deux partenaires en tandem, décomplexant, dynamique et d’une grande richesse, au bénéfice de l’apprentissage, du vocabulaire par exemple. Cette expérimentation nous enseigne également un certain nombre de stratégies développées par les apprenants à travers les séances de conversation 《IC-LNA》 en tandem, et nous montre combien la pratique de I’IC-LNA contribue à faire évoluer les représentations des étudiants sur l’enseignement/apprentissage des langues vivantes. Par rapport aux enseignements/apprentissages classiques, I’IC-LNA se positionne clairement comme une stratégie d’apprentissage complémentaire, dont la visée première est de diversifier la panoplie des ressources susceptibles d’optimiser l’efficacité de l’apprentissage en langues étrangères.
This study aims to present a new way of rendering language contact pedagogical. We call it “Intercomprehension between genealogically unrelated languages (IC-LNA)”. Like any Intercomprehension activity, the IC-LNA offers the possibility to focus on developing comprehension skills, but it differs in that it is not limited to the languages of the same language family, and it is meant first as a learning strategy, and that it focuses specifically on oral comprehension competences. The results of the experimental sessions of IC-LNA, conducted within the course of Tandem Language Learning, show us the advantages of this mode of communication, which is equitable and motivating for both tandem partners, decomplexing, both dynamic and rich for the benefit of learning, such as vocabulary for example. This experiment also teaches us a number of strategies developed by the learners through chat “IC-LNA” sessions in tandem, and shows us how IC-LNA practices contribute to change the students’ representations of language teaching and learning. Compared with classical language teaching and learning, IC-LNA is clearly positioned as a complementary strategy, whose first aim is to diversify the range of resources that are likely to optimize the effectiveness of learning foreign languages.
