영문 초록

This paper is to discuss the English word stress of a part of speech, particularly noun, adjective, and verb in Optimality Theoretic Approach. In such a case, English word stresses are composed of syllabic numbers and syllabic weight. The pattern of suffixed words in English shows significant and complex aspects from the monomorphemic pattern. In Chomsky & Halle in 1968, such facts have been taken as evidence for cyclic application of the stress rules. And so I explain constraints approach not by complex rules. Also, English word stress must approach Optimality Theory in relation to Alignment Theory.
