학교교육 개선을 위한 학생의 학업성취수준 결정요인 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 2009년 국가수준 학업성취도 평가의 전수결과를 이용하여, 초등학교 6학년, 중학교 3학년, 그리고 고등학교 1학년 전체 학생의 학업성취수준에 영향을 주는 학교와 지역 특성을 탐색하고, 그 특성들이 미치는 영향력의 크기를 비교함으로써 학교와 지역특성이 학생의 학업성취수준에 따라 차별적으로 작용하는지를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 학생의 가정배경, 학교 소재지 규모, 학교 유형, 학교 지원 정책, 학교교육과정 운영, 학교풍토의 효과를 파악할 수 있었다. 학교급에 따라 학업성취도에 미치는 학생 수준 변수와 학교 수준 변수의 영향이 다른 형태를 나타내었다. 학생 및 학교 수준의 교육맥락변인에 따라 우수학력 도달, 기초학력 미달에 미치는 영향은 다르게 나타났다. 이러한 결과로부터 우수학력에 도달하기 위한 지원과 기초학력 미달 학생 대상의 지원은 달라야 할 것이며, 학교급에 따라 차별화된 지원 정책을 수립하여야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The NAEA (National Assessment of Educational Achievement) has been carried out for all the students in target grade, as the national educational policy focuses on improvement of basic academic ability and school accountability system. This study was to analyze the extent of influence of school and student individual characteristic variables on student’s academic achievement using Hierarchical Linear Modelling (HLM). As the results, it was found that school variances of Korean language, mathematics, and English were similar with or above the school variance with compared to prior studies. And it was also turned out that school activities and climate had positive influence on academic achievement. The extent of effects of contextual variables of education on the achievement varied according the grades, and achievement levels. Based on the results, it was suggested that it will be needed to execute continuously the analysis study by utilizing the data of the NAEA which would be done every year and to explore the significantly influential variables.
