국문 초록

댄디즘은 멋쟁이를 의미하는 ‘dandy’에서 유래된 말로, 1차적인 의미로는 세련된 복장과 몸가짐으로 일반사람에 대한 정신적 우월을 은 연중에 과시하는 태도이다. 댄디즘의 시초는 19세기 초 영국의 조지 브러멜로 그의 옷차림은 이전까지 유행을 주도했던 프랑스의 화려한 패션에서 벗어나 단순하고 우아하게 입는 것이었다. 그는 당대 패션문화 아이콘으로, 그의 옷차림은 댄디즘이라는 패션문화코드로 알려지기 시작했다. 삶의 방식에서 댄디는 보헤미안과 부르조아가 결합된 양식을 따른다. 프랑스에서 댄디즘은 당시 세간에 풍미하던 부르주아적 취미에서 예술가의 자존심을 보여주는 ‘정신적 귀족주의’로 발전하였다. 특히 댄디즘에 심취한 시인 보들레르는 문화 코드로서의 댄디즘의 이론적 기초를 마련했고, 그의 삶을 통해 댄디즘이 2차적 의미를 획득한다. 그것은 주어진 현실과 타협하지 않고 자신만이 가진 은밀한 그 무언가를 발전시킨다는 점에서 자아 숭배 혹은 노력의 도덕률이다. 댄디즘은 문학의 한 사조로 시작되지는 않았다. 작품에 직접적인 영향보다는 작가의 생활양식에 영향을 미치면서 작품까지 그 범위가 넓어져 갔다. 소설 <프로크루스테스의 침대>에서 댄디즘은 전통적 관점의 댄디즘, 미소지니즘, 사회적 관점의 댄디즘으로 나눌 수 있다. 먼저 전통적 관점의 댄디즘에서는 당시 부쿠레슈티 사교계와 댄디를 분석했다. 소설에 묘사된 부쿠레슈티는 1차 세계대전 이후로 당시 서유럽의 어느 도시와도 견주어 뒤떨어지지 않는다. 페트레스쿠는 이 소설에서 등장인물의 내면의 세계와 더불어 눈에 보이는 세상에 대해 인식하고 관찰하는 것에 대한 중요성을 강조한다. 사람을 바라보는 것, 자신을 반영 하는 것, 또한 자신이 어떻게 비쳐지는가를 느끼는 것은 프레드의 존재 방식이다. 미소지니즘은 프랑스어 ‘misogyn 여성을 싫어하는’에서 유래되었고, 문학에서는 여성을 비하하는 의미로 본다. 페트레스쿠의 남자 주인공들이 자의식에 대한 문제에 몰두하고 있어 그의 연인을 열등한 여인으로 규정짓고 그녀가 줄 수 없는 것을 요구한다. 남자 주인공은 자기중심적 사랑과 뻔뻔스럽고 경솔하며, 육욕을 탐하는 이중적 태도를 취하며 사랑에 실패하고 자살한다. 사회적 관점의 댄디즘은 라디마를 중심으로 분석하였다. 페트레스쿠는 당시 부르주아 정부에 대항하여 위정자와 그들에 의해 움직이는 사회를 비판하고자 글을 쓰고 한동안 정치에도 참여하나 뜻을 이루지는 못 하였는데, 그것을 라디마에 투영한다. 노오크라치아는 페트레스쿠의 오직 정치가와 철학자가 결합된 사람만이 사회를 지도할 수 있다는 소크라테스와 플라톤의 주장을 표방한 이론이다. 프레드와 라디마는 당시 부쿠레슈티 사교계와 루마니아 사회를 대표하는 댄디로 페트레스쿠의 분신으로 현실과 이상의 자아를 대표한다.

영문 초록

Dandyism is derived from 'dandy' which means a classy dresser. It's immediate meaning is a man's attitude, who places particular importance upon physical appearance and pursue covertly a cult of Self. The herald of dandyism was George Bryan Beau Brummell, who was a British and a fashion icon at that time. Dandy's life style was bohemian and bourgeois. In France dandyism was extended into spiritual aristocratism which had been changed to artist's pride from the bourgeois's hobby. It dominated the society at that time. A poet Baudelaire was fascinated with dandyism and prepared the theoretical base of dandyism as a cultural code. Dandyism was not begun as a literature tendency, but had affected on many writers and their pursuing. In the Early part of the 20th century dandy had a desire for pursuit his personal character without conflicting the social customs. Oscar Wilde and Marcel Proust were good example. Marcel Proust had influenced on Camil Petrescu and his novels. In the novel were described 3 categories of dandyism: Dandyism of traditional aspect, Misoginism, Dandyism of social aspect. Traditional dandyism was analysed mainly with Bucuresti's fashionable society and dandies. Romanian Capital, Bucuresti was not behind in the external appearance compared with other vest european capitals. Novel's hero, narrator, Fred had a most dandyish life. Petrescu emphasized the importance of understanding and observation on the visible world and the inner world of heroes. Observing people, reflecting oneself and realizing reflection of oneself are existence mode of Fred and Petrescu. Misoginism is derived from a french word misogin, which means 'hating woman', is used by meaning of depreciating woman in the literature. Petrescu's heroes were absorbed in problem of self consciousness, then they assumed female lovers inferior to them. demanded what they had not. They insisted that women are less spiritual, and more physical than men. So heroes were egotists and behaved carelessly and impudently, assumed a double attitude about sensual pleasures. Social dandyism was analysed mainly with another hero Ladima. Against bourgeois government, Petrescu criticized politicians and the society controled by them and took part in the politics a while, but failed to death. He reflected himself in Ladima. Noocratia was Petrescu's political theory that only man with merits of both politician and philosopher and can lead and control the society, this theory was adopted a assertion of Socrates and Platon. Dandy who has a social aspect can understand most well worker class which controled by ruling class bourgeois.
