국문 초록

빛은 형태를 결정짓거나 특질을 구축하고 공간을 인지하게 할 뿐 아니라 인간의 미의식에 영향을 미친다. 빛이 조성하는 분위기가 공간의 밀도와 환경에 따라 인간의 감성을 좌우한다는 점은 곧 빛이 조형영역에 있어서 새로운 가능성을 주는 중요한 요소라는 것을 시사한다. 빛을 생명의 근원으로 여겼던 고대로부터 이어져오던 사상은 중세 철학의 발달과 함께 종교적 상징으로 표현되었으나, 계몽주의와 더불어 신적의미에서 인간적 가치를 구현하는 의미로 변화된다. 이후 빛에 의해 변화하는 대상을 표현하고자 하는 욕구는 빛 자체를 조형화하려는 탐구로 이어져 테크놀러지 미술에 깊은 영향을 주며 현대의 ‘라이트아트’라는 장르로 태어나 빛의 조형적 적용을 시도하는 예술가들에 의해 실현된다. 라이트아트와 같은 매체의 확산은 조형예술에 있어서 궁극적인 미의 개념이나 고전적인 가치체계로부터 모든 개념과 방법, 재료를 수용하는 태도로 전환됨을 의미한다. 다시 말해서 빛을 중심으로 하는 조형 창조라는 인식의 발전은 진보적인 매체의 활용과 더불어 현대미술의 실험적 도구로서의 의의를 가진다.

영문 초록

Light influences the human sense of beauty as well as determines shape. builds special characteristic, and recognizes space. The atmosphere which light creates affects human's emotion according to the density of space and environment suggests that light is an important element to give new possibilities in formative art. From ancient time that light was regarded as the origin of life, with the development of medieval philosophy, it was expressed in the religious symbol, but with the Enlightenment, it has been changed from the divine meaning to the meaning to implement human value. After that, the desire to express of the objects changing by light led to a variety of search to make light itself into modeling, profoundly affected technology art, was born as a genre of modern 'light art', and was realized by the artists trying modeling application of light. The proliferation of media as light art is the concept of ultimate beauty in plastic art. means the conversion to the attitude accepting all the concept and method' and material from the classical value system. In other words, as the development of perception of modeling creation focusing on light is the product of the experimental mind, it has the meaning as an experimental tool of modern art with utilization of the progressive media.
