영문 초록

This study aims at searching an ambivalent reason of oppression of women from the texts of Kim Hye-Soon, an intelligent woman writer, and finding the author's ways of response corresponding with it. Kim Hye-Soon, having focused on the correspondence between women and the world constantly, builds up her texts through overthrowing the usual relations of the world. This is the strategy to expose that the reason of oppression of women basically lies in men of the patriarchal society by making the antagonistic structure between men and women clearly. Particularly her eyes considering father and children as the source of oppression of women reflect the idea that oppression of women is overlapped at home and in the world at the same time. Kim Hye-Soon does not recognize the source of oppression of women as only men. It is significant that she does not always deify woman-mother as a sacrificing existence even though she searches the source of femininity from Barideggi mythology. This is Kim Hye-Soon' awareness that oppression of women is considerably responsible for women themselves and her self-reflection that a new way of corresponding with women's problems is necessary lies in her awareness. Upon a premise that the reason of oppression of women is not only limited to the patriarchal world symbolized by father and children but also even women themselves could be the reason of oppression of women, she suggests 'fighting physically' as a solution to solve women's problems. Especially finding out the source of oppression from women themselves means her awareness does not merely find ways of solving problems through women's solidarity. In other words, in order to make women's solidarity possible, an individual woman should keep her own position with a sense of independence and it means the thorough understanding of women's reality should be preceded. This can be considerably in forward motion in that it is not an emotional response to solve this problem.
