영아기 어머니의 부모효능감，가정 및 사회적 지원이 양육스트레스에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 어머니의 부모효능감, 가정 및 사회적 지원과 양육스트레스와의 관계를 알아보았다. 본 연구의 대상은 경기도 지역에 거주하는 영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 176명이다. 본 연구의 주요결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들은 보통 수준보다 높은 양육스트레스를 경험하고 있었으며, 어머니의 자녀수와 연령 및 영아의 형제순위에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 양육스트레스에 영향을 미치는 각 변인들의 상대적인 영향력을 살펴본 결과, 부모효능감의 하위요인인 부모로서의 효능감과 부모로서의 만족감과 자신감이 양육스트레스에 가장 큰 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 가정내 지원 중 남편의 정신적 지지와 사회적 지원 중 관계 차원의 지원이 양육스트레스와 높은 부적 상관관계가 있음이 드러났다. 이상의 연구결과는 영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니가 겪게 되는 실질적인 양육스트레스와 양육 환경 및 어려움을 이해하고, 양육스트레스를 감소시키기 위한 방안을 모색하기 위한 기초 자료로서 가치가 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the relative effect of parenting efficacy, family support, and social support on parenting stress. The subjects were 176 mothers with infants in Gyeonggi-province. The analysis of the collected data resulted in the following findings. First, the mothers' parenting stress was significantly different according to mothers’ age and the number of children. Second, there was a statistically negative correlation between the mothers’ parenting stress and parenting efficacy, family and social support. More specifically, satisfaction and confidence of parenting, self-efficacy as a parent, emotional support from a husband, a husband’s assistance for child-rearing, social support of functional and relational assistance were the most powerful predictors on parenting stress. These results imply that parent education program should include fathers and provide resources for social support to enhance self-efficacy as a parent and relieve mothers' parenting stress.
