영문 초록

This study examined whether adolescents show differences of self-esteem, assertive behavior and parent-child communication according to their affiliation with varying bullying groups. Groups are divided into non-bullying, bully-victim , bully, and victim group. Sample of 676 adolescents from 5th to 7th grades filled out questionnaires, and the data were analyzed using SPSSWIN 12.0. Results showed that gender and age brought differences as well as the affiliation with varying bullying groups. As expected, the non-bullying group's familial self-esteem and academic self-esteem, and the level of parent-child communication were the highest while victims and bully-victim group showed lower self-esteem and a lot of communicative problem with their parents. Interestingly, bully boys and girls showed higher social self-esteem than those who belong do the non-bullying group; both non-bullying boys and girls scored highest in academic self-esteem. Non-bullying 5th graders recorded the highest level of social, familial, and academic self-esteem and self-assertion among groups.
