국문 초록

본 연구는 읽기 학습장애 위험아동을 조기선별 할 수 있는 검사도구를 개발하기 위한 기초자료로서, 학령 전 아동의 음운처리과정과 초기읽기 능력의 발달패턴을 분석하는 데 주요 목적을 두고 있다. 국내․외 선행연구의 이론적 근거를 바탕으로 개발한 음운처리과정 및 초기읽기 능력검사는 다음의 하위영역으로 구성되었다: 음운인식, 음운적 작업기억, 음운적 정보회상, 단어인지, 읽기 유창성. 본 연구는 서울, 경기 지역의 유치원 만 4,5세 일반아동 총 52명을 대상으로, 총 3회기(10월, 11월, 12월)에 걸쳐 실시되었다. 연구결과, 음운처리과정 능력에 따른 세 하위집단 간 초기읽기 능력의 발달패턴, 특히 진전도의 차이가 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 즉, 음운처리과정 능력이 뛰어난 아동들은 초기읽기 검사에서 높은 성취수준을 보일 뿐 아니라 빠른 발달속도를 보이는 반면, 음운처리과정 능력이 낮은 아동들은 초기읽기의 성취수준이 낮고 발달속도도 상대적으로 매우 느린것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to predict the reading outcomes by the phonological processing and early reading abilities for struggling readers. The result of this study is intended to be fundamental foundation to develop measurement for early identification of reading difficulties for children at risk for reading disabled. In this regard, this study was designed to investigate the developmental pattern of phonological processing and early reading abilities of the normal preschool children, native speakers of Korean. The research questions of the study were as follows: (1) What the developmental pattern of the phonological processing and early reading abilities for normal preschool children is; (2) Whether there were any differences in the early reading abilities' development among the groups by the phonological processing abilities. The following two major conclusions were presented by the analysis of the developmental pattern: 1. Children's achievement level and growth increase with time. As children's age increases, so does their achievement level. However, the growth increases regardless of children's age except reading fluency test. 2. Among the groups by the phonological processing abilities' level, the upper group is shown to faster growth rate in the early reading abilities than the lower group. All the groups demonstrate statistically significant differences in their growth.
