영문 초록

The Purpose of this paper is to analyze what are the origins and causes of regional conflicts in East-Central Europe. And what is needed to solve them. For these aims, focusing on the comparison conflictual aspects between Czech-Slovaks and Slovaks-Hungarians, I try to propose the solutions to prevent conflicts in this area. After 1989, a number of violent conflicts have occured, which leaded to the break-up of states into two or over new states. In these processes, with an exception of the separation of Czechoslovakia, some cases were accompanied by violent conflicts or civil wars. Since the possibility of the territorial and national conflicts still exist in this area, I propose some measures to prevent them. The first is a kind of diplomatic or foreign policy. Minority problems thar have occurred in one country should be prescribed as domestic affairs. At the same time, intervening in the domestic affairs of another country especially on the of minority problems should be prohibited through the various international pacts. The second is that a country should provide minorities civil rights and all kinds of political rights. The third is that economic and educational discriminations against minorities should be abolished. Through the participations in educational and economic spheres, minorities will be able to learn coexist with the other nationalities. The forth measure is to solve the differences of the manner of communications and the finally, all the people who live in one country should learn the way to coexist in harmony and peace through mutual understandings.
