국문 초록

본 논문은 2000년 <신세계>지에 <세상의 7번째 면으로의 여행>이라는 제목으로 처음 발표되어 대단한 반향을 불러 일으켰고,2001년 러시아 부커상을 수상한 울리쯔까야의 대표 장편소설 <꾸꼬쯔끼에게 생긴 일>의 분석을 통해 작가의 인류학적 사고가 어떻게 형상화되고 있는지 고찰한 것이다. <꾸꼬쯔끼에게 생긴 일>은 꾸꼬쯔기이 가족의 일대기를 다루고 있는 작품이다. 가족의 형성과 가족 구성원들 간의 갈등, 그 해결의 실마리들을 찾아가면서 인간의 조건이 과연 무엇인가에 대한 모색을 시도한다.이러한 모색은 한편으로는, 생명 탄생을 둘러싼 환희, 인간애를 토대로 이루어지는 가족의 의미와 불법 낙태 시술로부터 여성들을 구하고, 생명출산의 구체적 현장인 여성 몸의 신성한 가치를 복원하고자 하는 주인공 빠벨을 통해 구체적으로 이루어진다. 다른 한편으로는 ‘유대이’, ‘빡빡이’를 포함한 자연의 작은 생물에 이르기까지,자신을 희생함으로써 생명의 부활과 새로운 세상을 위한 밑거름이 되는 등장인물들을 통해 인류의 존속과 진보를 위한 절대 조건이 무엇인지에 대한 사유로 확대되고 있다. 그럼으로써 작가는 인간과 그 사회를 지속시키고 진화하게 하는 힘, 인간의 본질을 드러내는 영원한 진리가 희생과 헌신이라는 것에 주목한다. 때때로 희생과 헌신은 죽음을 불사하는 길이며, 그 죽음을 통해 새 생명이 탄생하고 영혼이 부활할 수 있음을 보여준다. 이미 진부하거나 식상해져버린 그 사랑의 메카니즘을 단순히 지식으로 아는 것에서 벗어나 직관에 의해 깊이 깨닫는 여정이 울리쯔까야의 작품을 이루는 서사의 핵심이다. 따라서 울리쯔까야의 작품은 희생과 헌신으로 점철된 ‘인간’ 탐구의 문학적 지평을 연 소설이라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to research how writer's anthropological thought is embodied by analyzing Ulitstskaja's representative full-length novel, , which was initially announced under the title of in the magazine in 2000, created significant sensation and won the prize of Russian Booker in 2001. handles the story of Kukotskii family. The work searches for what is real condition of human while researching family formation and conflict between family members and searching for the clue to solve the problem. On one hand, through hero Pavel, who makes an effort to restore divine value of woman's body that is a specific field of family and life delivery, on the basis of human love around one life and one the other hand, by showing that sacrifices and devotions of all existences from ‘Iudei’ and ‘shaven-headed’ to microbe of nature become the foundations for human's existences and progresses, the writer concentrates on the fact that sacrifice and devotion are powers that enable human and society to continue and evolve and eternal truth to reveal real nature of human. The writer shows that sometimes, sacrifice and devotion go beyond death and new life can be created and soul can be resurrected through the death. The core ofUlitskaja's work is to understand the love mechanism, which is already stale and tired of, deeply through intuition, escaping from recognizing it as simple knowledge. Therefore, it can be said that Ulitskaja' work is the novel that opened literary horizon of 'human' search, from the viewpoint of sacrifice and devotion.
