루마니아어의 신조어 수용 양상에 대해서

국문 초록

언어는 인간으로 하여금 논리적인 사고를 하고 풍요로운 감정을 가 질 수 있도록 하여주며 그러한 사고와 감정의 사회적 소통을 가능하 게 하여주는 고차원적 기호체계이다. 이것의 중심에는 사물-개념-명 칭을 명료하게 연결 지어주는 구조가 존재하며 이 구조는 다양한 종 류의 어휘로 구성된 명명체계를 통해서 표현 될 수 있다. 고차원적인 철학용어에서부터 일상생활의 은어들에 이르기까지 다양한 종류의 어 휘 단위로 구성된 명명체계를 통해서 복잡다단한 사고를 하고 이를 사회에서 소통하며 공유 할 수 있는 것이다. 새로운 생각, 새로운 개념은 새로운 어휘를 통해서 표현 될 수밖에 없으며 변화하는 사회에 서 새로운 어휘의 탄생은 너무나 자연스러운 현상이다. 따라서 이러한 현상은 과거로부터도 쉽게 그 자취를 찾아낼 수 있는데 특히 교육과 문화의 대중화가 진행된 근대에 들어서 새로운 어휘, 즉 신조어의 탄 생은 그 속도를 더해갔다고 할 수 있다. 새로운 밀레니엄을 맞이하면 서 증가하는 신조어의 수에는 해가 다르게 가속도가 붙고 있다. 신조 어 증가 현상의 이유로서 큰 부분을 차지하는 것이 전문 지식의 발전 과 인터넷을 중심으로 하는 의사소통의 방식의 변화임을 부정하기 힘 들다. 신조어가 주로 만들어지는 부분이 과학-기술, 정치-경제 등 지 식과 사회 전반의 전문성을 띠는 분야이며 인터넷이라는 강력한 의사 소통 수단을 통해서 전문용어가 대중으로 급속히 확대되는 양상을 보 이고 있는 것이다. 이 논문에서는 루마니아어에 있어서 언어와 사회 사이의 밀접한 관 계를 통해서 등장하게 되는 신조어의 수용 양상과 개념을 살펴보았고 신조어가 수용되는 양상을 형태론적인 측면에서 전문용어를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 최근에 언어에 사용되기 시작한 전문용어의 대부분이 영 어를 통해서 수용되는 경우가 많아서 영어 외래어(Anglicism)가 루마 니아어로 받아들여지는 과정의 형태론적 문제들을 다루었다. 특히 영 어에서 받아들인 전문용어를 루마니아어 형태론 체계에 적절하게 받 아들이는데 있어서 일정한 규칙이 정해지지 않은 것으로 보여 이에 대해서 집중적으로 고찰하였다.

영문 초록

1. In Romanian language, the term neologism has two different meanings. On the one hand, neologism means, in contrast with archaism which is a language of Premodern times of Romania, a modern Romanian whose terminology and lexicon are mainly imported from romance languages especially from modern French. On the other hand, neologism means a series of words and terms recently imported. A lot of Romanian terms and words which denominate basic modern concepts and things are imported from modern french. In recent times neologism are mainly introduced from English. But, still there exists a preference of using indirect English loan words through french than introducing directly English words or terms. 2. In recent Romanian Language the number of neologism is in the course of increasing and through the new communication method of Internet the speed of spreading neologism to language users is also increasing. The most important and dynamic part of neologism is terminology, a class of special terms. These terms were used for some limited users of each domain specialists, but in these days by the benefits of new communication tool, i.e. internet, these are spreading easily to the common language users. 3. In introducing English terminology into Romanian language, there could be problems of translating English compound words, especially it is if the words are ‘2 words compounds’ because they could be translated more than one single form in Romanian language. I divided the possible forms in 3 patterns: 1) Noun + Noun 2) Noun + preposition + noun 3) Noun + Adjective. People who must introduce new terms in Romanian language from English could translate these terms diversly and, ipso facto, more than one form could be exist for denomination of one single concept or thing. This possibly make a confusion in the future. So, in a possible boundary, rules and regulations of accepting English loan words and terminologies should be made by Romanian language specialists who participate in decision making processes of language policies. 4. In case of introducing foreign words in Romanian language and if the words are noun, grammatical gender must be chosen. Recently many English nouns are introduced as a neutral noun in Romanian language and the termination for plural of neutral noun '-uri' is used very dynamically.
