선별검사 도구 개발에 관한 실험연구

국문 초록

조기중재 서비스의 효과가 알려지면서 장애의 조기 발견에 대한 인식이 점점 커가고 있다. 이는 2008년 '장애인 등에 대한 특수교육법'에서 조기 발견에 대한 법령화로 결실을 맺게 되었다. 이제 막 시작하는 단계라 죄 발견 서비스를 위한 여러 전문가 및 보건 복지부, 유아특수교육, 지역구청 및 교육부 등의 관계자들의 많은 관심과 협조가 필요할 것이다. 특히나 우리나라 어린이들을 위한 선별 검사와 관련한 여러 가지, 즉, 선별검사에 대한 이해확산, 선별검사체제 확립, 선별검사 결과 등에 많은 노력이 필요할 것이다. 이번 연구에서는 효율적이고 정확한 선별검사를 위하여 선별검사 도구인, The Ages and Stages Questionnaire Inventory for Toddlers(ASQ-IT)의 기술적 적합성을 조사하였다. 이 도구는 많은 시간 자녀를 돌보는 부모나 어른들의 자녀 발달에 대한 지식을 이용하여 짧은 시간에 정확한 정보를 얻도록 개발 되었다. 총 50쌍의 유아와 부모들이 모집되었으며, 이들은 세 가지 환경 요인인 가족 연 수입, 모친의 최종 학력, 및 모친의 분만 연령을 기준으로 하여 두 개의 집단, 일반과 환경집단으로 나뉘었다. 17-37개월의 유아들이 모집되었으며, 32명의 여아와 18명의 남아가 참여하였다(성별의 불균형을 위한 공변량 분석, F(1,46)=0.01,p>.90.). 이 연구의 여러 가지 한계점(예, 소수의 표본집단, 인종의 불균형 등)이 있음에도 불구하고 ASQ-IT는 타당하고 신뢰 높은 결과를 가져오는 도구임이 밝혀졌다. 예를 들어서, 부모가 작성한 ASQ-IT와 사정전문가가 작성한 Bettelle-2의 공인 타당도 연구(.63- .83)와 사정전문가가 작성한 ASQ-IT와 Bettelle-2의공인 타당도 연구(.72- .89)에서 높은 상관관계가 보고되었다. 또한 대부분의 부모들은 ASQ-IT 문항 작성이 별로 어렵지 않을 뿐 더러 유익하기까지 하였다고 보고하였다. 이 연구가 미국 유아와 부모들을 대상으로 조사되어 우리나라 유아들과 가족들에게 적용되기에는 제한적일 수 있다. 하지만 이 연구과정과 결과는 효율적인 선별검사 도구 개발 연구에 밑바탕이 되어 보다나은 선별 검사 서비스를 제고할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

Studies in early childhood education have provided evidence of enormous effect of early intervention services. Along with the effect, there is growing awareness that early identification of children who need special help becomes one of the significant tasks in early intervention. Such understanding established the Law for People with Disabilities (2008) stipulating early detection. Since efforts for early identification just start in Korea, many concerns from various areas including Health, Welfare, Family Department, Early Childhood Special Education, local village offices, and medical services are required to assist better screening service system. This current study pursued to provide a screening tool ensuring accurate results. Thus, this study examined technical adequacy of a screening tool, the Ages and Stages Questionnaire Inventory for Tooddlers(ASQ-IT). This tool was designed to utilize knowledge of parents mostly taking care of their child about their child's development, This study included 50 parent-child dyads divided into two groups-non-risk and risk- based on three environmental risk factors, family income, maternal education level, maternal age to give a birth. The children ranged from 17 to 37 months old. Results from this study found robust correlations between ASQ-IT scores of professional and parent groups although there were limitation of ethnicity and gender in the sampling (concurrent validity between parent-completed ASQ-IT & examiner-completed Battelle-2, .63-.83 & concurrent validity between ASQ-IT & Battelle-2 completed by trained examiner, .72-.89). Additionally, parent comments indicated easy and quick completion of the ASQ-IT and suggested several ideas for better ASQ-IT. Consequences from this study examining scores from American children and their parents may not apply to our children and their parents. However, the research method and process of this current study may contribute to development of efficient screening tools in the future. It is compelling to develop efficient screening tools for Korean children and their parents to deliver great screening services.
