국문 초록

현대의 모든 기업들은 물류비용을 줄이기 위하여 수많은 노력을 경주하고 있다. 한국의 기업들 또한 그러한 상황하에서 예외일 수는 없는 없다. 그러나 이러한 노력이 선진물류 제공자의 도움이 없이는 불가하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 제3자 물류 제공자와 제4자 물류 제공자의 기본적인 개념과 각각의 장단점을 살펴보고, 결과적으로 지속적으로 성장하는 국내의 물류시장을 분석하고자 한다. 본 연구는 제3자 물류와 제4자 물류에 관한 문헌분석을 통하여 기본적 개념과 특징을 찾았으며, 그러한 결과를 기초로 하여 현재 한국물류 시장의 시황을 분석하였다. 이러한 일련의 과정을 통하여, 본 연구는 한국의 물류시장에서 활동하고 있는 물류서비스 제공자들의 형태를 제3자 물류 제공자의 초기단계라고 평가하였다. 본 연구를 수행함에 있어 한국물류 시장을 파악하기 위한 선행된 실증적 분석 자료의 부재로 인하여, 한국물류시장에 관한 2차 자료를 통한 연구가 수행되었다. 따라서 향후 전반적이고 세밀한 연구를 위해 일정 수준이상의 물류서비스를 제공하는 물류기업을 토대로 심층적 면접과 설문을 통하여 보다 확증적 결과를 도출할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 향후의 보다 심층적 연구를 위한 기초적 연구로서 가치가 있다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

At present, the cost of logistics is the most important factor for reducing costs. Firms in Korea are also concerned with their logistics activities in order to reduce costs. However, the firms cannot achieve this without a sophisticated Logistics Service Provider (LSP). Therefore, in this study, Third-Party Logistics (TPL) service provider and Fourth-Logistics Party (FPL) will be explored in order to understand the appropriate model of logistics business in an emerging Korean logistics market. The first step of this study was the research of TPL. The points of this step are to identify the notion and features of TPL. In the second step, FPL, a new conceptual business model in the logistics industry, was mentioned as the same procedure as TPL, The third step was to analyze the Korean logistics market. From these steps, this study finally identified the current business model in Korea, which is 'infantile TPL'.
