국문 초록

본 연구는 지역축제의 주민참여도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 실증적으로 규명하는데 초점을 맞추어 시도되었다. 연구를 위하여 광주/전남지역에서 2005년 하반기와 2006년 상반기에 개최된 축제들을 대상으로 현장조사를 실시하고 이를 바탕으로 주민참여도와 26개의 축제 특성항목들 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 분석결과 예산, 지역이미지 제고, 주민화합에의 기여도, 특산품판매량 제고, 프로그램의 완성도, 주민참여시스템의 적절성, 행사에 대한 주민만족도, 주민참여의 자발성, 내부평가시스템의 존재여부, 외부평가시스템의 존재여부, 공청회 개최여부, 평가자료의 사후공유 정도, 사후프로그램의 유무, 축제발전 잠재력 정도 등 14개 항목은 개인 참여와 기업참여 모두에 대해서, 주관, 추진위존재여부, 자긍심/애향심 제고, 관광객의 지출정도, 자원봉사육성시스템, 유관기관과의 협조, 축제추진위의 민주성, 축제담당자의 경력기간 등 8개 항목은 개인 참여에만, 행사에 대한 주민인지도, 예산규모의 적절성, 프로그램의 다양성, 여가활동 제공 등 4개 항목은 기업참여에만 연관성이 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study was to identify the determinants of residents' intention to attend the local festivals. The survey was conducted for the local festivals which held in Gwangju and Jeonnam area from the second half of 2005 to the first half of 2006. Correlation analysis was performed between twenty-six characteristics of the festivals and residents' intention to attend the local festivals. The results revealed that individual attendance and corporate attendance correlated with the following fourteen characteristics; promoting local image, contribution to residents' unity, selling local product, program quality, well-timed system for residents' participation, residents' satisfaction on the event, residents' spontaneousness, presence of internal evaluation system, presence of external evaluation system, holding a public hearing, sharing of evaluation data after the event, and the potential growth of the event. The results also found that individual attendance correlated with the host of the event, presence of the committee, promoting pride and local patriotism, tourists' expenditure, training system of community volunteers, cooperation with public organization, democratic operation of the committee, and the length of event planners' career. Additionally, correlation between corporate attendance and four characteristics of residents' recognition, proper budgeting, variety of the program, and providing recreational activities were proved.
