영문 초록

It may be true that modern literature have been confined its own forms like poet and novel. Modem literature has been more formal than Premodern one. Now unformal and free literary writing should be recovered. Multimedia environment is giving a good chance to do it. Contemporary literature is on test of a considerable change to digital body. We cannot affirm that what a result of the tests will be like. But digital literature seems to have the identity different with a former literature in some respects. Digital literature is difficult to be an independent existence, it a creation by individual artist, and it a finished product. It will become a part of complex and multiple artistic activities. It will be creation as a result of group work by many people. Furthermore it would be literature as a process. Literature research in digital multimedia environment has to support such changes. To do so, however, literature requires new research method. First, object and domain of literature research has to be extended and rearranged, and the concept of literature needs to be new. Second, literature research should make a full use of digital media like web and have a system for group work with researchers of various fields. Finally, the elaborate and expert database compiling literary materials should be established and made of use.
