포스트모더니즘의 합리성에 근거한 한국교육의 재개념화

국문 초록

  본 연구는 모더니즘의 합리성과 포스트모더니즘의 합리성을 비교하고 한국교육의 재개념화를 위한 이론적 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 진행되었다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 모더니즘성과 포스트모더니즘의 합리성을 비교 논의하고 이를 바탕으로 한국교육의 문제점을 분석할 개념적 준거를 도출하였다. 다음으로 한국교육의 문제점을 비판적으로 분석하고 포스트모더니즘의 합리성 이론에서 제안된 아이디어와 앞서 도출된 개념적 준거를 통합적으로 논의하여 한국교육의 재개념화 방향을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 결과 포스트모더니즘 합리성의 특징인 ‘반정초성’, ‘서사적 지식’, ‘구성적 언어관’, ‘언어게임의 규칙활용’ 등의 개념은 모더니즘의 합리성이 초래한 ‘탈맥락성’, ‘비인간화’ 등의 문제점을 극복할 틀로 활용될 수 있음을 제안하였다. 한국교육의 문제점을 고려하고 제안된 개념 틀을 활용하여 도출된 새로운 한국교육의 방향은 ‘상황적 교육목적’, ‘차이를 존중하는 교육과정’, ‘상상력의 고양과 탐구의 교육내용’, ‘실천적 교사관’ 등으로 정리된다. 한국교육의 새로운 재개념화를 위하여 본 연구에서 제안된 교육개념들을 실체적으로 구체화하는 교육적 시도와 노력이 요구된다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of this study was to compare the concept of the rationality of modernism with that of postmodernism and to seek for the significance of the rec onceptualization of Korean education based on its results.
  First of all, the rationality of modernism and postmodernism were being compared and discussed. Second of all, the status quo of Korean education was criticized based on the previous results and theoretical proposals were given for a new reconceptualization of Korean education. It was pointed out that the rationality of modernism became a grand narrative and functioned as an absolute standard to judge the whole. Effected by modern rationality, the Korean education was developed through the fundamental objective of an education, which is to reflect needs and interests of various individuals, with isolated competition and logic of efficiency. Therefore it is difficult for the rationality of modernism to be accepted as one of basic principles that consists Korean education positively. Under this context, theoretical foundations for a reconceptualization of Korean education were indicated with characteristics of rationality of postmodernism, such as anti-foundationalism, reasonableness, organizational discourse, and practical use of language game"s rules. It is necessary for the Korean education, which has deviated from original functions of education, to be reconceptualized through situational education objective, organizational education process, explorable educational contents and practical teachers which have been discussed from the rationality of postmodernism analysis.
