우리나라 특수교육에서의 보조공학 요구 분석

국문 초록

  본 연구에서는 전국 시ㆍ도ㆍ지역교육청 장학사, 특수교육지원센터 담당자, 특수학교 관리자, 특수학교(급) 교사, 학부모 1,116명을 대상으로 인터넷 설문조사를 실시하여 우리나라 특수교육에서의 보조공학ㆍ정보접근의 배치 및 활용 현황과 요구를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 특수교육대상학생을 위한 보조공학기기 배치 현황에서 기관별로는 특수학교에서 가장 많이 보유하고 활용도도 높았다. 하지만 전반적으로 보조공학기기의 배치와 활용은 낮은 수준에 머물러 있는 상태였다. 둘째, 보조공학기기에 대한 요구는 장애유형별로 달랐고 많은 장애유형에서 장애인을 고려한 학습용 소프트웨어에 대한 요구가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 보조공학 서비스에 대한 요구는 학생에 대한 보조공학 요구 평가와 수업에 적용을 돕는 서비스를 가장 많이 요구하였다. 셋째, 보조공학 전문가에 대한 요구는 학교나 학급 소속이 아닌 특수교육지원센터나 보조공학 서비스 전문기관으로부터의 협력을 요구하고 있었다. 넷째, 정보접근권 확보를 위한 법ㆍ제도 정비에서 정보화 시스템 구축, 유지보수, 관리에 대한 인력, 예산, 자원 등 기술적 지원이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of the study was to investigate assistive technology and information access needs in special education of South Korea. The total number of 1,116 school inspectors, service providers in special education resource centers, special school administrators, teachers in special schools and classes, and parents, through stratified cluster sampling methods, were participated in the internet survey.
  The findings of the study were as follows. First of all, special schools had the most number of assistive technology devices, and utilized the devices the most. However, overall placement and usage of assistive technology devices were at a low rate. Secondly, respondents answered that students with disabilities needed learning software addressed their disability and learning characteristics although assistive technology device needs were different by disability types. The respondents replied that they needed support in the evaluation process for finding assistive technology needs of students with disabilities and using the devices in class. Thirdly, the respondents expressed that assistive technology experts should be placed in the special education resource centers, or the schools and centers should cooperate with assistive technology service providers in their local community. Lastly, learning and information accessibility should be secured by providing technical assistance. That is, staffs, budgets, and resources for information system, maintenance, and management should be supported in special education system.
