국문 초록

  급변하는 사회 환경과 교육 환경은 교사의 인식이나 사기를 변화시키고 있으며, 이러한 교사의 변화는 학생들의 학업성취와 교육의 효과에 영향을 주게 된다. 이러한 면에서 교육 환경을 지각하고 평가 내리는 교사의 스타일과 교사 효능감은 상호작용을 기본으로 하는 수업 상황에서 주요한 영향을 미치는 변인이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 초ㆍ중등 교사 438명을 대상으로 정신자치제 이론에 입각한 교사의 사고양식과 교사효능감 간의 관계 규명을 시도하였으며, 교사효능감 구인이 갖는 특성을 이해하고 사고양식의 유용성을 확인하고자 하였다. 통계처리는 SPSS 12.0 프로그램을 이용하여 t검증과 ANOVA, 단계적 중다회귀분석을 시행하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 교사들의 사고양식은 전체적으로 계급제-입법적-행정적-외부지향적-자유주의적-전체적인 경향성이 강하게 나타났다. 또한, 학교 급별에 따른 차이는 군주제ㆍ과두제ㆍ보수주의적 경향성에서, 성별에 따른 차이는 계급제에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났으나, 다른 사고양식에서는 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 교사효능감은 학교 급별과 성별에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 학교 급별에 따른 차이는 교사효능감의 모든 하위요인에서 나타났으며, 성별에 따른 차이는 과제난이도 선호의 요인에서 유의미하게 나타났다. 셋째, 교사효능감에 영향을 미치는 교사의 사고양식의 변인으로 사법적, 자유주의적, 외부지향적, 계급제적 사고양식으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of this study was to investigate how teachers" thinking styles were represented and to reveal the relationship between thinking styles and teacher efficacy based on the Mental Self-Government theory.
  The detailed research questions were as follows:
  First, are there differences in teachers" thinking style according to background factors such as their level of school and gender?
  Second, are there differences in teacher efficacy according to background factors such as their level of school, gender, career?
  Third, how are the effects of thinking styles on teacher efficacy? Subjects of the research were 220 elementary and 218 secondary school teachers. Data were collected using Sternberg"s Thinking Styles Questionnaire Short Version and the Teacher Efficacy Questionnaire developed by Lee, Hyeon-Jung. Collected data were analysed by t-tests, ANOVA, and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis using the SPSS program. The main results of this research were as follows:
  First, general levels of teachers" thinking styles were relatively high in "hierarchic", "legislative", "administrative", "external", "liberal", and "totalitarian" categories. As to the tendency of thinking styles depending on teacher"s "level of school", significant group differences were found in "monarchic", "oligarchy", "conservative" categories. Second, teachers thought a little lower than average of their efficacy. There were significant group differences statistically in teacher efficacy depending on "level of school" and "gender". Third, teachers" thinking styles were significantly related with teacher efficacy.
