국문 초록

  독특한 건학 이념과 대안적 교육 실천으로 주목을 받아 왔던 대안학교의 운영 성과를 진단하고, 새로운 학교 유형의 공간으로서 대안학교의 미래를 전망하는 일은 중요한 의미를 가지고 있다. 학교 체제의 다양화를 통한 대안적 학교 유형의 가능성을 탐색하는 일은 작게는 대안교육의 내실을 기할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 크게는 공교육 체제의 경직성에 대한 또 하나의 대안으로 자리매김할 수 있기 때문이다. 이 연구는 대안학교를 대상으로 학교교육의 중핵적 위치를 차지하고 있는 교육과정의 운영 실태를 진단하고 체계적인 질 관리 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 이러한 노력은 비단 대안학교의 성장 토대를 공고히 하거나 확충하는 일일 뿐 아니라 일반 학교에 미치는 영향 또한 지대하다 할 수 있다. 왜냐하면 이미 많은 영역에서 그래왔듯이 대안교육의 성공적인경영 기법들이 일반 학교의 혁신적 경영을 견인하는 역할을 하기 때문이다. 이 연구는 전국에 소재한 대안학교를 대상으로 교육과정 경영 실태에 대한 설문을 실시하고 그 결과를 분석하였으며 추가적으로 현장 방문 면접을 통해 실제 당면한 교육과정 운영상의 문제들을 다각도로 진단하고자 하였다. 여기에서 도출된 조사 결과를 통해 대안학교의 교육과정 개발, 운영, 평가의 교육과정 운영 단계별 정책 제안과 국가, 시ㆍ도교육청, 단위학교 등 교육과정 운영 주체별 정책 제안을 제시하였다. 아울러 단위학교 수준의 교육과정 편성ㆍ운영의 자율적 역량 배양은 대안 학교의 정체성 확립을 위해서 필수적으로 요청되는 부분이기 때문에 단위학교 차원의 교육과정 활성화 방안도 제도적 차원과 연계하여 모색하였다. 이 연구는 현행 교육과정 뿐 아니라 앞으로 개정될 교육과정에서 각 대안학교가 견지해야 할 운영 지침으로 활용될 것으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

  Nowadays the alternative education system starts to attract many people against standard public education system.
  The purpose of the study is to explore the political proposals for quality management of curriculum in the alternative schools. Research methods utilized survey questions and school visiting interview in the understanding major issues of alternative school
  The present curriculum in specialized high school system is organized and managed by the consultation between the municipal or provincial boards of education with each school. The overall form is basically based on the important points of the 7th curriculum
  The curriculum is made up common and curricular compulsory courses with specialized subjects. Particularly the formation and management of specialized curriculum reveals educational features of each school. Therefore each school needs to design the general frame in the course of specialized high school education within the field of maintaining peculiar characteristics and autonomy of each school.
  In order to improve the quality of curriculum in the alternative schools four directions such as the national common basic curriculum, elective-centered curricula, extra curricula activities, optional curricula activities are autonomy and learning society based education were adopted.
  The autonomy of alternative schools in the formation of their curriculum and their management must be secured. If central government controls alternative education, its proper value would be interfere with and it would be hard to manage alternative school with creativity and flexibility.
