『法界觀門』의 ‘觀’의 機能에 關한 試論

국문 초록

  본 논문은 『法界觀門』에 나오는 ‘觀’의 기능이 무엇인가를 밝히는 것을 목표로 했다. 일반적으로 ‘觀’은 화엄종의 수행방법으로 알려져 왔다. 필자도 이 점에 대해서는 기존의 연구자들과 마찬가지 입장이다. 그런데 필자가 보기에는, ？？法界觀門？？에 나오는 ‘觀‘은 수행의 방법으로서도 역할도 있지만, 동시에 ‘觀’에는 불교의 각종 경전에 나오는 교리를 설명하는 해석적 요소도 있다는 것이다.
  『法界觀門』에는 세 종류의 ‘觀’이 제시된다. ‘眞空觀’을 활용하면 반야 계열에의 경전에 나오는 空思想을 해석할 수 있다. 그리고 ‘理事無？觀’을 활용하면 여래장 계열의 경전에 나오는 아뢰야식 緣起를 해석할 수 있다. 끝으로 ‘周？含容觀’을 활용하면 화엄의 法界緣起를 해석할 수 있다. 그런데, ‘주변함용관’으로는 앞의 두 ‘觀’을 모두 포괄할 수 있지만, 그 역은 성립하지 않는다.
  이상의 입장에서 보면, 『法界觀門』이라는 작품은 궁극적으로는 ‘주변함용관’을 주장하기 위해서 쓰여진 것임을 알 수 있다. 게다가 ‘주변함용관’의 관법을 이용하지 않고는 華嚴의 ‘法界’를 완전하게 설명할 수가 없다. 이것은 마치 10玄門으로 화엄의 교리를 설명하는 것과도 같은 논리이다.
  여기에서 우리는 문자로 표현된 ？？화엄경？이란 ‘法界’를 묘사한 것임을 상기할 필요가 있다. 그런데 ‘法界’란 결국은 인간이 사유하는 활동 가운데 나타나는 일체의 현상이다. 다시 말하면 『화엄경』의 내용은 인간의 사유 활동에 나타나는 세계의 참 모습이다. 우리는 이러한 『화엄경』의 문헌에 대한 바른 지식을 갖게 되면, 곧 그것이 세계에 대한 바른 지식을 갖는 것과 동일하다. 그리고 세계에 대한 바른 지식을 갖는다는 것은 그 자체가 바로 실천과 연결된다. 이러한 실천의 구체적인 표현이 보살의 각종 실천이다.

영문 초록

  The goal of this article is the function of ‘Method of contemplation’ which is from Fajieguanmen". Generally that ‘Method of contemplation’ is the way of The Huayen school"s practical method. The point of my view is the same thought as any other scholars. However the ‘Method of contemplation’ in Fajieguanmen has role of practical way and it has interpretation factor through explain of Buddhism"s several scriptures.
  There are three types ‘Method of contemplation’ in Fajieguanmen; First, the use of ‘Contemplation on the emptiness’ can interpretate in ？unya from Prajn？ Scripture. Second, the use of ‘Contemplation on the noumenon and phenomena are not differnet’ is based ‘Dependent origination of vijn？na’ which follow Tath？gata-garbha Scripture. Finally, the use of ‘Contemplation on the unhinderness’, it can interpretate Dharma-realm in The world of Flower Garland Sutra. Yet, these ‘Method of contemplation’ as previous mention have include all ‘Contemplation on the unhinderness’, the opposition is not equal at all.
  The point of view as previous mention, the text which is called Fajieguanmen wrote basically for insisting on ‘Contemplation on the unhinderness’. Moreover Dharma-datu of The world of flower garland cannot completely explain without ‘Method of contemplation’ in ‘Contemplation on the unhinderness’. It is the same logic that explain the Flower Garland Sutra through using as like 10 types"Xuan-men(玄門).
  It is necessary to remember that the Flower Garland Sutra is the text of Dharma-realm. Eventually the Dharma-realm is the phenomenon that human has private behaviour. Another word, the contents of Flower Garland Sutra is the real figure of the world. If we have righteousness knowledge about Flower Garland Sutra, it is the same we have righteousness knowledge about world. Also having righteousness knowledge about the world is the connecting to practice. These expression of actual practice is the Bodhisattva"s practice.
