국문 초록

  근대 산업화 이후의 자본주의 사회는 생활의 전 영역이 문화화되어 문화산업이 중심을 이루고 문화생산물이 자본가의 이윤추구에 이용되고 있는 문화 이데올로기의 사회이다. 후기구조주의 사상을 토대로 하는 포스트모던 사회에서는 계몽주의와 과학주의 사상을 토대로 한 근대의 절대적인 지식관과 모더니즘적인 문화적 시각에 대한 질서를 해체하고 상대적 지식관과 다원적 세계관을 향한 문화교육으로서의 미술교육으로의 접근이 요구된다. 따라서 문화 패러다임의 변천과 포스트모던 시각에서 바라보는 미술의 사회적 기능은 어떤 특정 지배문화의 재생산적 도구가 될 수 있으며, 제도적인 교육기관인 학교에서의 미술교육은 이러한 특정 문화의 재생산적인 담론으로 해석될 수 있다. 부르디외의 취향과 안목으로서의 미술과 문화재생산에 대한 이론은 근대적 문화 담론으로 형성된 학교 미술교육에 대한 비판적 분석의 필요성을 일깨워준다. 이러한 자각을 기반으로 본 연구는 근대의 문화적 담론과 문화재생산이론을 고찰하고 문화재생산의 관점에서 미술의 사회문화적 기능에 대한 통찰과 근대 이후 학교 미술교육의 패러다임에 대한 비판적 분석을 제공한다.

영문 초록

  As a way of cultural production, art have greatly influenced human’s life. Unlike pre-modern industrial society, modern capital society has been controlled by new mechanism of cultural power. As a modern production, school education have also functioned as a process of cultural succession. Postmodern societies, seeking cultural differences and plurality, need the notion of the social and cultural functions of art and education. This notion is based on the post-structuralism andpostmodernism suggesting deconstruction of modernity which approaches  to art and education in the universal, ahistorical and acultural views of human, and requires the critical understanding of sociocultural contexts and its power mechanism.
  This paper provides the critical insights of the paradigms of modern school art education, examining the discourses of modernity and cultural reproduction theories suggested by Althusser and Bourdieu. In the light of the cultural reproduction theories, the cultural discourse of modernity, modern art and school art education provides an opportunity to analyse the mechanism of cultural ideology and power controlling human life and modern society. In the shift from the modern paradigm of school art education to visual culture education, this analysis suggests new direction for school art education toward social equality.
