영문 초록

  Nakdong river in the modern literature is the place which reveals the contradiction of the social structure. This place also brings the keen confrontation of opposite classes. In addition, this is the headquarter of lives and endless conflicts under the pretense of development. The distorted oppression of power, resulting from the contradiction of the modern society, has its own way in this area. And this is the sorrowful space in which the real space of the people has been taken away from the inside oppression.
  The contradiction becomes profounder because the unjust modern order and doctrine of the Japanese occupation by force has been connected until now. Everyone knows that this is unfair, but nobody tells this officially. And the isolated class have been separated from the indifferent social environment in this place. Because of the continuance of the modern chaos condition, our contemporary history lose its path, which has been the unsolvable problem.
  Nakdong river in the novels of Jo, Myeong-Hui and Kim, Jeong- Han is the fighting space and in the poetry of Kim, Yong-Ho, this is the floating contemporary space which keeps picturesque past recollection. Nakdong river as a tragic place puts down its root as another place in which the lives of the people are sung through the Folk Song[Minyo]. The collective lives shown into the Folk Song are the vestige of the post-modernity society surrounding Nakdong river. The people overcome the contradiction of the modern society through the Folk Song and open a new life space.
  Finally, the sequential poem ‘A Song of Water’ written by Lee, Dong-Soon shows a new life prospect of the people through the submerged districts in the industrialized age. This feature shows the direction which has a tendency to deviate from the modernity. And this intend to the post-modernity.
  Since the modern age, Nakdong river has been the place of endless conflicts, and fighting and remains as an alternative new place. In the contemporary age in which people overcome the distorted modern society and intend to the post-modernity, literary texts surrounding Nakdong river which are more adventurous and active should be produced. Also, this is another task which our modern literature should intend to.
