초등교사가 지각한 학교장의 변혁적 지도성과 교사의 교직헌신도 간의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등교사가 지각하는 학교장의 변혁적 지도성과 교사의 교직 헌신도를 살펴보고, 학교장의 변혁적 지도성과 교사의 교직 헌신도와 어떠한 관계가 있는지 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 대상으로 인천광역시 5개 교육청 소속별로 각각 2개교씩 10개교에 재직 중인 초등 학교 교사 257명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 측정도구는 학교장의 변혁적 지도성에 관한 질문지와 교사의 교직 헌신도에 관한 질문지를 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 대규모 학교 교사와 교사의 경력이 높을수록 교장의 변혁적 지도성을 긍정적으로 지각하고 있는 것으로 나타났고, 교사들의 교직에 대한 헌신도는 학교규모 간에는 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 경력이 높을수록 교직 헌신도는 높았다. 그리고 초등학교장의 변혁적 지도성과 교사의 교직헌신도 간에는 의미있는 상관관계를 보여 학교장이 변혁적 지도성을 잘 발휘하면 교사는 교직에 더욱 헌신하게 됨을 알 수 있었다. 좀 더 객관적이고 다각적인 연구가 이루어지기 위해서는 심층면담과 참여관찰 등 다양한 연구 방법을 이용한 후속연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between principal's transformational Leadership and the elementary teacher's commitment. For this purpose, we carried out a survey on 257 teachers in active service of the 10 schools selected among each of 5 district office of education and conducted the survey from 21 March, 2005 to 8 April , 2005. The collecting data were analyzed by SPSS/PC Program. t-test and one-way Anova. The correlation between the principal's transformational Leadership and the teacher's commitment was investigated by calculating structural equation by AMOS. The results of the study were as follows: first, the level of principal's transformational leadership is highly evaluated by the teachers with a high career, while there is little relationship between the perceived leadership and the size of a school. Second, the level of teacher's organizational commitment to their school is high in general, regardless the size of a school they work for. the more experiences they have, the higher level of commitment to school. Third, there is the strong relationship between principal's transformational leadership and teacher's commitment by AMOS. In conclusion, it was recommended to be developed various perspectives in addition to in-depth interview and participant observation of principal's transformational leadership and the teacher's commitment.
