유아의 어머니, 교사, 또래와의 관계와 보육시설 적응간의 관련성

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아의 어머니, 교사 및 또래와의 관계와 보육시설 적응간의 관련성을 알아보고자 수행되었다. 300명의 유아에 대한 개인면접을 실시하고, 그들의 어머니 및 교사를 통해 질문지 자료를 수집하였으며, 최종적으로 207쌍의 자료가 분석되었다. 연구 결과, 유아들은 어머니 및 교사와 친밀하고 갈등이 낮은 긍정적인 관계를 맺고 있으며 또래와 비교적 우호적인 관계를 형성하고 있었다. 성별에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타나 여아가 남아보다 교사와 친밀하고 갈등이 낮은 관계를 맺고 있으며 긍정적인 친구관계를 갖고 있었다. 또한 여아가 남아보다 보육시설에 잘 적응하고 있는 것 으로 밝혀졌다. 어머니와 갈등이 높을수록 보육시설에서도 교사와 친밀감이 낮고 갈등은 높았으며, 교사와 친밀한 관계를 형성한 유아들은 또래와 긍정적인 관계를 형성하고 있었다. 교사와의 관계 및 또래관계는 유아의 적응에 유의한 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 교사 및 또래와의 관계가 긍정적일수록 보육시설을 더 좋아하고 활동에 적극적으로 참여하며 학업준비도 역시 보다 긍정적이었다. 본 연구는 유아가 형성하는 어머니, 교사, 또래와의 관계 양상이 보육시설 적응 여부에 영향을 미친다는 것을 실증적으로 확인한 연구로서 의미가 있다

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of children's relationships with their mothers, teachers and peers on early school adjustment. Subjects were 207 children aged 5 attending childcare-centers in J city. The peer relationship was assessed by peer nomination and friendship quality by individual interview. The mother-child relationship was evaluated by mothers. The teacher-child relationship and children's early school adjustment were rated by teachers. The major results of this study were as follows: there were significant differences according to sex in teacher-child relationship and school adjustment. The mother-child conflict was positively linked with teacher-child conflict, and fhe teacher-child conflict was related to positive friendship. The children's level of school adjustment was differed by popular, rejected, and neglected children's group. The teacher-child closeness was positively linked with children's academic performance, as well as attitude toward school and school participation. The teacher-child conflict was associated with teachers' ratings of children's school adjustment(attitude toward school, school participation, academic performance).
