국문 초록

학습자 중심의 열린 교육에서 교수 학습의 개별화와 소집단 학습이 모두 가능한 방법으로 TGT 협동학습이 제안된다. 이 연구에서는 물질의 입자성이 강조된 중학교 과학 수업에서 TGT 협동학습의 효과를 조사하였다. 남녀 공학 중학교 1학년 2학급 59명을 각각 협동학습 집단, TGT협동학습 집단으로 무선 배치하였다. '물질의 세 가지 상태', '분자 운동', '상태 변화와 열에너지'에 대하여 13차시 동안 수업을 실시하였다. 수업 처치 이전에 학급 동기 검사를 실시하였고, 처치 후에는 개념 이해도, 학업 성취도, 학습 동기 검사를 실시하였다. 이원 공변량 분석 결과, 개념 이해도에서 TGT 협동학습 집단이 힘동학습 집단에 비해 유의미하게 높았으나 학업 성쥐도와 학습 동기에서 두 집단간 차이는 없었다. 또한 TGT 협동학습의 장ㆍ단점과 TGT 협동학습이 학습에 도움이 되었는지에 대한 인식을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

TGT cooperative learning is suggested as a method which enables both the individualized teaching-learning and the small group learning in students-centered open education. This study investigated the instructional effects of a TGT cooperative learning in middle school science class. Two classes of seventh graders (N=59) at a co-ed middle school were randomly assigned to the cooperative learning group and the TGT cooperative learning group. The students were taught about 'three states of matter', 'motion of molecules' and 'change of state and thermal energy' for 13 class hours. Prior to the instructions, the learning motivation test was administered. After the instructions, the conception test, the achievement test, and the learning motivation test were administered. Two-way ANCOVA results revealed that the scores of the TGT cooperative learning group were significantly higher than the cooperative learning group in the conception test. However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in the scores of the achievement test and in the learning motivation test. Advantage/disadvantage and usefulness of TGT cooperative learning were also discussed.
