영문 초록

Sinam Lee, Byeong-tae(1910-1992) who belonged to the school of Hwaseo organized by Lee, Hang-ro(1792-1868) was born at Sinsi-ri, Jeongm-myeon, Dangjin-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. He worked for the examiner of Seonggyungwan. He succeeded to the branch of the school following Lee, Hang-ro, Yu, Jung-gyo, Yu, Jin-ha, and Lee, Cheol-seung. His works are Daehakgangwui and Dongyugi. Daehakgangwui was produced at his 23 age in 1931 during the term of hagwa. The pivotal factor of this book consisted of the question and answer form divided into 37 items. This book not only is very important material for clarifying his teacher Lee, Cheol-seung's thought of Daehakgangwui but also is very helpful in studying philosophical research of Cofucian on that book. On the other hand, it is thought that the situation of studying, a background of production of Daehakgangwui, is the same as one of the seminar. This book is very important role in showing how Jikam Lee, Cheol-seung's teaching method for his teachers including Hwaseo's school's teaching style of educating Chinese character was proceed at that time. Dongyugi is travel sketch of Mt. Kumgang(a kind of diary) which was wrote with creative Chinese character at his 29 age in 1938. This book is evaluated as remarkable travel book thanks to desirable factors that the traveling story of Mt. Kumgang has to have. In 1930 this book characterized the figure of Mt. Kumgang in detail, depicted the great monks who lived at Mt. Kumgang, and introduced tales and the old books related to them well. At that time this book includes new contents that shows the story like the bear lived at Mt. Kumgang or six lions was raised at Jangahn temple. This is different from the existing contents. Dongyugi can be evaluated as a data for studying of literature of Mt. Kumgang and for literary enjoyment.
