국문 초록

於于 柳夢寅(1559-1623)은 우리 문학사에 뚜렷한 자취를 남긴 작가이다. 그의 개별 작품들에 대한 연구와 논의가 이미 상당한 성과를 축적하며 진행되었다. 그런데 정작 그의 작품의 밑바닥을 관통하는 문학이론에 대한 연구와 관심은 최근에 와서야 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 그의 산문에 관한 이론에 연구의 관심을 기울이는 것은 의미가 있는 일이라고 생각한다. 於于의 산문론은 매우 개인적이고 심리적인 요인을 비롯해서 매우 보편적인 사회·문화의 변화 因素들을 형성의 기반으로 하고 있다. 조금 더 구체적으로는 당대 중국의 새로운 문예사조라고 할 전후칠자의 문학론을 비판적으로 수용한 것과 당대의 주류의 학문 경향을 이루었던 성리학에 대한 반성적 고찰을 했던 점, 과거제도를 비롯한 당대의 사회적 병폐에 대해 비판적인 인식을 보였다는 점 등을 들 수 있다, 이러한 형성의 기반을 바탕으로 문장의 이치를 스스로 깨닫고 스스로 터득할 것을 강조하고 古今의 典範에서 두루 모범을 삼을 것을 주장했으며 先泰兩漢의 문장에서부터 문장학습을 시작하여 唐의 문장으로 들어가야 함을 제시하였다. 그렇게 함으로써 창작의 실제에서 氣象이 높고 품격을 예스럽게 할 것을 주장하였다.

영문 초록

Uh-Woo(於于) is the magnificent writer in the history of Korean literature. Each of his masterpiece has been studied and discussed, therefore it accumulated brilliant results and still going on. However, on the bottom line of the study and concern which runs through the theory is quite recently. With this point of view, I think the study on his theory of prose is meaningful thing. His theory of prose has quite an individual and psychological aspects. Also, the basic foundation of his prose comes from an universal style for the social and cultural aspects of its variations. More specifically, there are three point of views as follows, At first, he accepted contemporary theory of Chinese literature of new current as critically which what it calls Jeon-Who-Chil-Ja(前後七子)’s idea of literature. Second, he reflected on the neo-confucianism which is the main stream of learning in those days. And the third, He acknowledged critically for the civil service examination in Cho-Sun(朝鮮) dynasty and social disorders. Through this basic formation for his idea, he emphasizes on the realization for himself and comprehension for the way of writing. In addition, he asserted the standards through in all ages which we must learn as a prior model. He also suggested we should learn for Sun-Jin-Yang- Han(先泰兩漢)’s writing style at first and followed by Dang(唐)’s writing style. By doing this way, the creation of writing contained high disposition, and enhanced the dignity in prose’s.
