실업자의 구직행태 및 의중임금 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 한국노동연구원(Korea Labor Institute)에서 발표하고 있는 한국노동패널(Korean Labor and Income Panel Study: KLIPS)데이터를 이용하여 실업자의 구직활동과 관련된 제반 사항과 구직자의 의중임금 (reservation wage)을 분석하는 것이 주요내용이다. 먼저 실업자의 구직행위와 관련된 제반 사항을 분석하였다. 로지트모형을 이용하여 실업선택함수를 추계하였는데, 이 결과에 의하면 전체적으로 여성보다 남성, 교육수준이 높은 층, 그리고 청년층의 경우가 실업자가 될 확률이 높다. 실업자들은 구직활동을 하면서 가장 어려운 문제가 ‘일자리가 없거나 부족하다’라는 점이라고 응답하였다. 이와 함께 다항로지트(multinomal logit) 모형을 이용하여 구직자의 특성과 취업희망직종과의 관계를 분석하였다. 다음으로 구직자의 의중임금함수를 추계하여 제반 사항을 분석하였다. 전 지역을 대상으로 의중임금함수를 추계한 결과에 의하면 다른 조건이 동일하더라고 여자의 의중임금이 남자보다 28.2％ 낮고, 비수도권의 의중임금이 수도권보다 17.2％ 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 우리나라의 노동시장에서 상당한 정도의 성차별과 지역 격차가 존재한다는 것을 나타낸다. 의중임금이 최고가 되는 연령은 40.7로 추정되었다. 이와 함께 지역별로 의중임금함수를 추정하여 지역별 특성을 비교하였다.(JEL : J6)

영문 초록

This paper analyzes the job search behaviors their reservation wages using Korean Labor Income surveyed by Korea Labor Institute. For the study of the job search activity, the function of the unemployment choice was estimated using logit model. The result showed that men rather than women, high education group, and young generation were more likely to be unemployed. They responded the question that "What is the most difficult problems for them during the job searching period?" is that "There is no place to work and lack of opportunity for getting job." In addition, the relationship between the characteristics for them and the desired job was analyzed by the multinominal logit model. The function of reservation wage was estimated as well. According to the estimation result, women's reservation wage is lower by 28.2% than men's and the reservation in non-cosmopolitan was also lower by 17.2% than cosmopolitan (Seoul and its vicinity). This result implied that there existed a great deal of sex discrimination and regional differences in the Korean labor market. The highest age of the wage reservation was estimated as 40.7.
