한국 제조업내 조립기업과 부품기업간 도급관계와 경제적 성과에 대한 영향 분석

국문 초록

본고는 한국 제조업의 매출액에 미치는 도급관계의 영향을 부품기업과 조 립기업의 입장에서 살펴보았다. 설문조사에 기반을 둔 다변량 로지스틱 회귀 분서(multiple logistic regression)의 주요 결과를 요약하면, 부품기업의 입장 에서 매출액은 조립기업과의 전속성이 적을수록, 공급계약기간은 길수록 많은 것으로 분석되었다. 그리고 조립기업과악 협력정도는 부품가엽의 매출액에 영향을 미치지 않고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 조립기업의 입장에서 매출액은 부품기업과의 협력정도가 클수록 많은 것으로 분석된 반면, 전속성 이나 공급계약기간에는 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과에서 한국 제조업의 도급관계의 개선방향에 대해 몇 가지 시사점을 얻을 수 있다. 첫째, 상대기업과의 전속성이 부품기업의 매출액에는(ㆍ) 영향을 미치는 반면, 조립기업의 매출액에는 영향을 미치지 않고 있다는 분석결과는 한국 자동차부품시장에서 경쟁이 강화되고 있다는 반증이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 경쟁이 심화되는 현상이 한국 자동차산업의 경쟁력에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것인지 예의주시할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 상대기업과의 공급계약기간이 부품기업의 매출액에는 (+) 영향을 미치는 반면, 조립기업의 매출액에는 영향을 미치지 못하고 있다는 결과는 향후 거래시 장기 - 안정적인 수주를 가장 중요시 여기고 있는 부품기업의 입장을 고려하는 정책이 필요하다는 것을 암시하고 있다. 셋째, 상대기업과의 협력관계가 부품기업의 매출액에는 영향을 미치지 못하는 반면, 조립기업의 매출액에는 (+) 영향을 미치는 상반됨 결과를 나타내고 있다는 점에 주목할 필요가 있다. 한국 제조업이 지속적으로 발전하기 위해서는 조립기업과 부품기업간에 거래비용의 감소와 매출액 증대를 위해 공동으로 노력하고 그 성과를 공유하는 가치경영기법(VA, VE)이 적극 활용되어야 한다.(JEL : L2, L3)

영문 초록

This study examines the influence of subcontracting between assemblers and component suppliers on their respective performance in Korean manufacturing industry. Based on survey and multiple logistic regression, sales of suppliers are analyzed to be positively influenced by contract longevity, but negatively by exclusivity, and not by closeness with assemblers. On the contrary, sales of assemblers are analyzed to be positively impacted by closeness, but not by exclusivity and longevity with component suppliers. The different situation by firms suggest the following policy implications: i) the negative impact on the sales of suppliers, on the one hand, and no impact on those of assemblers, on the other hand, reflect that market surrounding Korean component industries got intensified in competition. Judging from the fact that global competition forces top-level advanced firms to make strategic alliance one another, this result should be inquired into in case that it makes negative contribution to the competitiveness of Korean assembly industries. ii) the positive effect of contract longevity on the sales of suppliers, on the contrary to no impact on those of assemblers implies that the favorite policy to suppliers is needed to maintain the long and sustainable contract. iii) An attention should be paid to the result that while the closeness to suppliers results in the positive effect on sales of assemblers, the cooperative relationship with assemblers has no influence on sales of suppliers. To respond to such contrary and unilateral relation, Korean manufacturing industry should improve the clustering and coevolving effects among firms.
