국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초기 청소년의 부모요인(부모의 긍정적인 양육태도, 부모와 함께하는 시간, 부모와의 대화시간)과 스마트폰과의존의 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과를 알아보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 한국아동청소년패널조사 2기(KCYPS(2018)) 데이터 중 초등학생 3차(6학년) 2,364명의 데이터(남학생 1,187명, 여학생 1,177명)를 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 긍정적 양육태도와 스마트폰과의존과의 관계에서 자아존중감의 완전매개효과를 확인하였다. 둘째, 부모와 함께하는 시간과 스마트폰의존관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과를 확인하였다. 셋째, 부모와의 대화시간과 스마트폰과의존관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과는 확인되지 않았다. 즉, 초기 청소년기 부모의 긍정적 양육태도 뿐만 아니라 실질적으로 자녀와 함께 하는 양적 시간의 증가는 자녀의 자아존중감을 향상시켜 스마트폰과의존을 예방할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이는 초기 청소년의 스마트폰사용습관을 지도하고 자녀의 자기조절력을 키울 수 있는 부모교육이 필요함을 시사한다. 연구결과를 토대로 초기 청소년기 부모교육방안에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to confirm the mediating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between parental factors(positive parenting attitudes, time spent with parents and conversation time with parents) and smartphone overdependence in early adolescence. Data from the third wave(sixth grade) of elementary school students from the second period of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey were used. A total of 2,364 students participated in the survey, with 1,187 male and 1,177 female students. The results show that first, positive parenting attitudes influenced smartphone overdependence by mediating self-esteem. Second, conversational time with parents did not affect self-esteem or smartphone dependence. Third, the time spent with parents had a direct effect on smartphone overdependence and a mediating effect on self-esteem. It was confirmed that having a positive parenting attitudes and spending quality time with children in early adolescence can improve self-esteem and prevent smartphone overdependence. This suggests that parental education is needed to guide early adolescents' smartphone usage habits and enhance children's self-regulation. Based on these findings, early adolescent parental education plans are discussed.
