장애공감 중재프로그램이 초등 비장애학생의 공감능력과 통합된 장애학생의 학교생활 적응에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 초등 통합교육 환경에서 실시된 장애공감 중재프로그램이 초등 비장애학생의 공감능력과 통합된 장애학생의 학교생활 적응에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는 것이다. 연구대상은 편의 목적 표집으로 선정된 전라북도특별자치도 농촌지역 A군에 소재한 B초등학교 5, 6학년 통합학급 비장애학생 20명과 장애학생 3명 총 23명이다. 단일집단 사전-사후검사 설계로 실험연구를 실행하였으며, 장애공감 중재프로그램은 12주 동안 총 33회기를 적용하였다. 이 연구에서는 중재 프로그램이 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 비장애학생의 공감능력의 사전검사와 사후검사 차이는 두 종속표본 t검정을 사용하여 검증하였으며, 장애학생 학교생활 적응의 사전검사와 사후검사 차이는 비모수 통계 방법인 대응표본 Wilcoxon 부호순위 검정을 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애공감 중재프로그램은 초등 비장애학생의 공감능력을 향상시켰다. 비장애학생의 공감능력은 전체 총점과 인지적·정서적·신체적 공감능력 세부 하위영역에서 모두 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었다. 둘째, 장애공감 중재프로그램은 초등 장애학생의 학교생활 적응을 향상시켰다. 장애공감 중재프로그램은 초등 장애학생의 학교생활 적응에서 장애학생 연구대상 2와 연구대상 3의 학 교생활 적응 향상에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 이 연구는 통합교육 환경에서 초등 고학년을 대상으로 장애공감 중재프로그램을 적용하여 효과를 검증한 것에 의의가 있으며 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a disability empathy intervention program on the empathy competence of non-disabled elementary school students and the school adaptation of integrated students with disabilities. The one-group pretest-posttest design was applied. The subjects were 20 non-disabled students and three integrated students with disabilities from a small sized elementary school located in a rural area. A disability empathy intervention program was developed on the basis of major elements of empathy competence. A total of 20 non-disabled students evaluated the school adaptation of the 3 students with disabilities, in addition the empathy competence of non-disabled students was measured by a self-report instrument. Dependent-samples t-test and Wilcoxon matched pairs signed-ranks test were implemented for analyzing the data. Results: First, the empathy competence of the non-disabled students was statistically improved significantly after they participated in the program. Second, the school adaptation of 2 out of the 3 students with disabilities was statistically improved significantly after they participated in the program. Conclusion: A disability empathy intervention program improves both the empathy competence of non-disabled elementary school students and the school adaptation of integrated students with disabilities.
