텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 교육사회학의 연구동향 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 교육사회학의 연구동향을 파악하기 위해 한국교육사회학회에서 1997-2022년까지 출판한 「교육사회학연구」의 논문초록을 텍스트 마이닝을 기반한 의미연결망과 토픽모델링을 활용하여 분석하였다. 의미연결망은 1997~2000년, 2001-2010년, 2011-2022년의 3시기로 구분하여 연구동향의 시기별 특성 및 교육사회학연구의 학문적 추세를 분석하였다. 그리고 토픽모델링을 통해 ‘국가 교육전략과 교육정책,’ ‘사교육 경쟁과 능력주의,’ ‘계층과 교육격차,’ ‘고교 평준화와 학업성취,’ ‘학력과 노동시장,’ ‘청소년의 비행과 가치관 변화,’ ‘다문화교육과 학습자,’ ‘학부모 참여와 교육 갈등’의 8가지 토픽을 도출하였다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 시기별로 두드러진 연구주제의 특성과 교육적 쟁점을 파악하고 교육사회학연구의 학술적 지형을 포괄적으로 조망하여 연구 환경의 변화에 따른 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This article analyzed the paper abstracts of 「Korean Journal of Sociology of Education」published by the Korean Society for the Study of Sociology of Education from 1997 to 2002 using semantic network analysis and topic modeling based on text mining to identify research trends in sociology of education. The semantic network analysis was divided into three periods, 1997-2000, 2001- 2010, and 2011-2022, to analyze the characteristics of research trends and academic trends in sociology of education. Through topic modeling, eight themes were identified: ‘national education strategy and education policy,’ ‘private education competition and meritocracy,’ ‘social class and educational gap,’ ‘high school equalization policy and academic achievement,’ ‘education and the labor market,’ ‘youth delinquency and changing values,’ ‘multicultural education and learners,’ and ‘parental involvement and educational conflict.’ Based on these analyses, this study identified the characteristics of research topics and educational issues that had been prominent over time, provides a comprehensive overview of the academic landscape of sociology of education, and discusses the implication of changes in the research environment.
