경기도의 에코뮤지엄 수용과 지속가능성에 대한 성찰

국문 초록

본고는 경기도의 에코뮤지엄 수용이 어떠한 관점에서 이루어졌는가와 진행 과정,그리고 지속가능성에 대해서 연구하는 것을 목표로 한다. 경기도는 경기만지역의 환경파괴와 무분별한 개발로 인한 공동체의 파괴에 대해서 문제를 제기한다. 하여 연안문화자원에 대해서 관심을 갖고 이를 활용하는 방안으로서 2016년 경기만 에코뮤지엄을 출범한다. 최근에는 경기도 전체로 확대하려는 시도를 이어가면서 경기만 에코뮤지엄은 경기 에코뮤지엄으로 명칭이 수정되어 시행되고 있다. 그런데 경기만 에코뮤지엄에서 경기에코뮤지엄에 이르는 일련의 과정은 에코뮤지엄의 개념과 철학을 수용하는 과정에서 많은 의문점을 내포하고 있다. 이에 본 연구를 통하여 에코뮤지엄학의 관점에서 경기만 에코뮤지엄과 경기 에코뮤지엄에 대해서 분석하고자 한다. 연구방법은 경기만에코뮤지엄이 기획, 실행 단계에서 발행된 다수의 연구보고서를 바탕으로 에코뮤지엄의 개념과 철학에 대한 해석을 어떻게 하였는가를 면밀히 검토하였다. 다음으로 경기만 에코뮤지엄에서 경기 에코뮤지엄으로 확대되는 과정에 발행된 경기만 에코뮤지엄 성과 평가에 담긴 메시지를 검토하였다. 그리고 현재 시행되고 있는 경기 에코뮤지엄의 사이트를 방문하여 현장 조사한 내용을 바탕으로 경기 에코뮤지엄이 지속가능하기 위하여 무엇을 어떻게 해야 할까를 고민하였다. 에코뮤지엄은 국가별, 지역별로 각기 다른 상황에 맞추어 적용되어왔다. 에코뮤지엄의 생성과정에는 지역의 정체성이 강하게 반영되고 주민공동체의 개성이 작용하여 운영되는 특징을 갖고 있다. 그렇다면 경기도의 에코뮤지엄 수용은 경기도의 정체성이 투영된 살아있는 공동체 운동인지 살펴보아야 할 것이다. 본고는 경기 에코뮤지엄이 지속가능하기 위해서 선결되어야 하는 문제는 무엇이며, 서로 연대하기 위해서 무엇을 어떻게 해야 할까를 고민하면서 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to examine what perspective ecomuseums of Gyeonggi-do has been accommodated from, its process and sustainability. Raising issues about environmental destruction in the Gyeonggi Bay area and the destruction of the community caused by indiscriminate development, Gyeonggi-do launched the Gyeonggi Bay Ecomuseum in 2016 as a measure of having interest in coastal cultural resources to make use of them. Recently, the Gyeonggi Bay Ecomuseum has been renamed to the Gyeonggi Ecomuseum with the attempt to expand its scope to the entire Gyeonggi Province. However, a series of procedure from the Gyeonggi Bay Ecomuseum to the Gyeonggi Ecomuseum includes a range of questions in the process of adopting the concept and philosophy of the ecomuseum. In accordance, this study aims to analyze the Gyeonggi Bay Ecomuseum and the Gyeonggi Ecomuseum from the viewpoint of ecomuseology. The research method involves a thorough examination of numerous research reports produced during the planning and implementation stages of the Gyeonggi Bay Ecomuseum to understand how the concept and philosophy of the ecomuseum have been interpreted. Subsequently, reviewed are the messages contained in the Gyeonggi Bay Ecomuseum performance evaluation created in the course of expanding it to the Gyeonggi Ecomuseum. In addition, based on field investigations conducted by visiting the site of the Gyeonggi Ecomuseum which is currently being managed, it has been considered what and how the Gyeonggi Ecomuseum should do to be sustainable. The ecomuseum has been adapted to different situations by country and region. The local identity is strongly mirrored in the process of their establishment and they have the characteristic of being operated by the individuality of the local community which comes into play. Then, it is essential to explore whether the accommodation of the ecomuseum in Gyeonggi Province is a living community movement that projects the identity of Gyeonggi-do. This paper discusses in depth what the issues must be addressed first in order for the Gyeonggi Ecomuseum to be sustainable, and what should be done to stand in solidarity each other.
