국문 초록

본 연구는 중년을 대상으로 그릿과 우울의 관계에서 통제감의 매개효과를 확인하고, 역경에대처하는 능력인 회복탄력성에 의해 조절되는지 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 자녀가 있는 만 50 ~ 64세의 기혼 중년 418명(남자 211명, 여자 207명)을 대상으로 온라인 자기보고식 설문을 시행하였다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 Process macro (model 14)를 사용하여 조절된 매개 모형을 검증하였다. 그 결과,그릿은 통제감을 매개로 우울에 부적인 영향을 보였다. 또한 그릿과 우울의 관계에서 통제감의 매개효과는 회복탄력성의 수준에 따라 조절되어 회복탄력성의 조절된 매개효과를 확인하였다. 즉 중년에게 있어그릿은 통제감을 통해 우울을 낮추는데 기여하였으며, 우울에 대한 회복탄력성의 보호효과 역시 확인하였다. 본 연구는 인생의 전환점을 맞는 중년을 대상으로 그릿이 어떠한 심리적 기제를 통해 우울을 낮출수 있는지 밝혔다는 데에 의의가 있다. 이를 토대로 행복한 중년기를 영위하고 건강한 노년기를 준비하기 위한 적절한 개입전략을 모색하는 데에 필요한 기초자료를 마련하는 데에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to investigate whether a sense of control mediates the relation-ship between grit and depression in middle-aged individuals, and whether resilience moderates this mediation. To achieve this, a set of self-report questionnaires were ad-ministered online to 418 middle-aged parents between the ages of 50 and 64. Using the Process macro (model 14), the results indicate that grit negatively predicted depression and a sense of control had a significant mediating effect. In addition, resilience played a moderating role in the mediation effect. Our findings emphasize the significance of fos-tering grit, nurturing a sense of control, and acknowledging the moderating role of resil-ience in middle age for enhancing well-being. This study is important as it sheds light on the psychological mechanism by which grit can alleviate depression in middle-aged in-dividuals who are facing a transitional phase and anticipating their senior years. The study implies the importance of incorporating strategies and interventions aimed at enhancing these characteristics in middle age for successful aging in later years.
