중도입국 청소년을 위한 역사 교재 개발 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 교육기회의 사각지대에 놓인 중도입국 청소년을 위한 역사 교재를 개발함으로써 중도입국 청소년을 위한 교과 교재 개발에 시사점을 준 것에 그 의의가 있다. 중도입국 청소년은 한국문화와 한국사회에 대한 이해가 부족한 상태에서 한국에 입국하여 낯선 나라에 대한 언어장벽, 문화차이, 정보격차, 정체성 혼란 등으로 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 특히 언어문제로 인하여 일반학교에서 학업을 수행하기가 어려워 많은 학생들이 학업을 중단하거나 다문화 대안학교에 진학해서 학업을 이어가고 있다. 하지만 다문화 대안학교에서도 이들의 요구와 성향에 부합하는 교과 교재가 개발되지 않아 학교현장에서 원활하게 수업이 진행되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 특히 학습 내용이 방대하고 용어가 어려운 역사과목을 중도입국 청소년들에게 가르치기 위해서는 교재 개발이 절실히 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 다문화교육적 관점과 2015년 개정 교육과정의 역사 영역 목표에 근거해서 고려시대에 한정하여 중도입국 청소년들을 위한 역사교육의 목표와 내용 영역 및 내용 요소를 개발하였다. 그리고 학습자의 요구와 특성을 고려하여 역사 교재 구성체제를 다양하게 마련하고 그 모형을 제시하였다. 향후, 중도입국 청소년을 위해 개발된 역사 교재의 현장 적용을 통해 교재의 효과성을 검증하고, 교재를 활용한 효과적인 교수·학습 방안에 대한 다양한 모색이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to develop a history textbook for immigrant youths in the blind spot of educational opportunities. Immigrant youths, who entered Korea with lack of understanding about Korean culture and society, are facing difficulties due to language barrier, cultural gap, digital divide, identity confusion, etc. Particularly, language problems make it difficult for them to complete the regular school curriculum, causing many of them to drop out of the school or to transfer to multicultural alternative schools. However, even these multicultural alternative schools do not have customized textbook in accordance with their specific needs and charactersitics, resulting in ineffective classes. In the same vein, it is in desperate need of developing history textbook for immigrant youths. Therefore, this study investigated contents of history education and designed a model history textbook, limiting its contents in the Goryeo Dynasty. This is based on the multicultural education perspective and the aim of the history area in the 2015 revised school curriculum. This study also devised, based on the needs and characteristics of immigrant youths, a history textbook composition. It is expected that the future studies will examine the effectiveness of this textbook and search for the proper teaching and learning method using this textbook for immigrant youths.
