2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 초등 4학년 사회교과의 다문화적 내용요소 분석: 지젝의 이데올로기론을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 2009년 개정 사회과 교육과정 하에서 개발된 2014년 초등 4학년 사회교과서의 다문화와 관련되는 내용을 찾아 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 분석의 틀은 조영달 외(2009)에서 교육과정을 분석하기 위한 틀을 사용하였다. 선행연구인 조영달 외(2009)에 의하면 초등 사회교과에서 다문화적 내용 요소들이 가장 많이 나타난 학년은 3학년 2학기, 4학년, 6학년 2학기이다. 이에 초등 4학년 사회교과에 중점을 두어2009개정 교과서의 다문화적 내용요소를 2007개정 교과서와 비교하여 분석한다는 것은 조영달 외(2009) 연구의 연장적인 측면에서 의의가 있다고 할 것이다. 나아가 지젝의 이데올로기론을 바탕으로 우리나라가 지향해야 할 다문화사회의 비전과 내용을 고스란히 담고 있는 국정 사회교과서의 내용을 살펴보았다. 분석결과 2009개정 교과서에는 다문화적 내용요소들이 2007개정 교과서에 비해 다소 증가하였다. 세부적 분석결과는 첫째, 소수자의 권리가 2007개정 교과서보다 훨씬 다양한 방법으로 나타나고 있고 새롭게 다문화 가정과 북한 이탈주민에 대한 개념정의가 이루어졌다. 또한 정체성에 대한 우리 사회의 다문화 판타지가 강하게 나타난 부분으로 볼 수 있겠다. 둘째, 2009개정 교과서에서의 다양성·다원성부분이 2007개정 교과서에 비해 현저히 줄어들었다. 반면, 여성의 차별과 양성평등 관련 부분은 2007개정 교과서에서 6개였던 것이 2009개정 교과서에서는 10개로 늘어나는 것은 물론 페이지량도 6페이지에서 10페이지로 늘어났다. 셋째, 우리 사회에 이로움이 되는 다양성·다원성을 주로 표현하고 있다. 이는 우리 사회의 대타자가 어떤 다문화 사회를 지향하고 있는 지를 암시적으로 나타내는 다문화 판타지로 해석될 수 있을 것이다. 넷째, 주류입장에서의 비주류입장을 고려해보고 그 속에서 차별적인 것을 인식하고 바로 잡아야 한다는 주류 중심주의적 표현이 2007개정 교과서보다 순화되어 나타나고 있다. 그러나 그 속에서 나타나는 ‘냉소적 거리두기’적 표현은 여전히 표현되고 있다.

영문 초록

This study has the purpose to analyze by finding objects related to multiple cultures of 4th grade elementary social studies textbook, 2014 which was developing under the Educational Curriculum Revision of 2009. The framework for analyzing curriculum by Cho, Youngdal and others(2009) was used for the framework of analysis. According to the preceding research by Cho, Youngdal and others(2009), the grades that have shown the most multicultural content elements on social studies of elementary school are 2nd semester of 3rd grade, 4th grade and 2nd semester of 6th grade. Thus, it is significant in the sense that analyzing Multicultural content element on revised textbooks of 2009 by comparing with revised textbooks of 2007 putting emphasis on 4th Grade Elementary Social Studies Textbook has the meaning in the aspect of extending the research by Cho, Youngdal and others(2009). Moreover, it showed government-published social studied textbook that has the vision and contents of multicultural society which our country has to aim focusing on Slavoj Zizek’s Ideology Theory. As the analysis result, more multicultural content elements were shown on the revised textbooks of 2009 than on the revised textbook of 2007. The detailed analysis results are as following; First, the rights of minority are mentioned in much more various ways than revised textbook of 2007 and concept definition about multicultural family and resident escaping from North Korea was made. It is the part that expressed our society's multicultural fantasy on Identity strongly. Second, the section of Diversity·Pluralism has diminished compared to revised textbooks of 2007. But, the part of discrimination against women and gender equality has increased from 6 to 10, has been the increase in the number of 4 pages compared to revised textbooks of 2007. Third, it represents diversity and variety that is beneficial for our society mainly. This might be interpreted as multicultural fantasy which presents what type of multicultural society has been pursued by the big Other connotatively. Forth, as the stance of mainstream, the mainstream-centric expression that things that are discriminatory should be realized in it and rectified with considering the stance of nonmainstream are shown in a more refined way than the revised textbook of 2007. However, the expression in a way of having distance cynically are still used.
